Secondary School Individual Portraits Catch Up Date

Friday 26 March

Any Secondary School student who was absent for their individual portrait photo on 5 March can attend a catch up opportunity on Friday 26 March at 10.10am and 1.00pm in the Learning Hub classroom LH 2.2.

All students are required to be wearing their full school uniform, including blazers. Boys must be clean shaven with hair that has been cut so that it is away from eyes, ears and collar. Girls with hair touching the collar should tie it back with navy accessories (elastics, ribbon, scrunchies). No hair dye, make-up or nail polish is permitted. No jewellery is to be worn other than one pair of plain gold or silver studs in ear lobes.

Cross Country Carnival

The Cross Country Carnival will be held on Wednesday 17 March at Homebush. Students in Yr 11 who wish to participate will need to register their interest on the Google form that has been sent to them.

Student Achievements

Congratulations to Jessica Wei, the leader of Redlands new Maths Club, who has been accepted into the Yale Young Global Scholars program in Innovations in Science and Technology. Over 7000 students applied from 150 countries, with approximately 30% being offered places and just 36 students from Australia, so this is a wonderful achievement for Jessica! She will participate in the program in July at the Yale University campus.

Pastoral Program

This week students celebrated International Woman’s Day and watched a video where students and teachers discussed topics such as what does feminism mean and who are the important women in their lives. A big thank you to Iris Buisman who helped coordinate and interview many of the participants in this video. It was fantastic to see so many boys and girls talk from all Year Groups.

Over the next 4-5 weeks, Yr 11, Class of 2022, will be creating a Legacy Vlog. The Vlog will be a legacy to future Yr 11 students entering their final two years of studies to assist them with overcoming the barriers of Yr 11 and 12 through student personal reflections and words of wisdom.

Yr 11 Biology

Yr 11 IB Biology and ESS, accompanied by Ms Vandervord, Ms Carroll and Mrs Harrisson, went on a field trip on Tuesday to the Long Reef rock platform. They were involved in hands on ecological studies of the abiotic factors affecting the distribution of organisms that inhabit in area.
