Year 10

It is hard to believe that we are at the end of Term 3! What a busy term it has been with students, thankfully, being able to have all of their learning onsite. It has been so clear to see the importance of the social connections Yr 10 have in school. The sense of belonging and being accepted for who they are on a daily basis in their interactions with their friends at school, is something that many struggled without when the school was required to change to remote learning earlier in the year. There has been much research done to demonstrate the importance of these school social connections on the mental wellbeing of students, and this term it has been particularly noticeable how positive these friendships have been and how supportive the Yr 10s are of each other.

End of Year Examinations

As we are approaching the end of Term 3, Yr 10 should be beginning to consider their preparation for their end of year examinations in Week 3, Term 4. Students have been using this term to learn the importance of planning their schedule each week, through the use of a termly and weekly planner. It would be a good time to check-in with your child and have a conversation about exam preparation and how they are going to effectively use their upcoming holidays to not only enjoy themselves but also begin their revision process. This week Tutors have been assisting the students in their preparation.

Sporting Achievements

Congratulations goes to the following students who have made the 1sts team in their respective sports:

Prue Salter’s Study Tips

With the end of term fast approaching take the time these holidays to reflect on what is ahead in the last term.

  • Do you have exams?
  • Should you be making some study notes?
  • Are there areas of difficulty you should address?
  • What do you want to achieve both academically and personally?

Set some goals!

Tony and I wish you all a restful and safe holiday away from the busy school routine, and look forward to welcoming Yr 10 back on Monday 12 October in summer uniform.
