Year 10
Urban Race and Balmoral Beach
Our Head of Outdoor Education, Mr David Gregory, together with OEG staff have arranged two days of exciting activities for our Yr 10 students. Students will attend initiative and team building activities at Balmoral Beach and engage in an urban challenge through The Rocks, Circular Quay and Botanical Gardens. Students were briefed yesterday and are aware of their groups as well as which day they will be attending these activities. Students will need mobile phones, sunscreen, hats and two litres of water in a small day pack. On the Balmoral Beach day, they may bring swimmers and towel. Students should wear the Redlands PE uniform and please be aware that morning tea, lunch and snacks will be provided.
Yr 10 Harbour Cruise
Last Friday night, Yr 10 enjoyed the sights of Sydney Harbour aboard the Yr 10 Harbour Cruise and this served as a wonderful celebration of the year passed. Students thoroughly enjoyed this milestone event and they are to be commended for their sterling behaviour ensuring the night was enjoyed by all. It was lovely to see parents waving off their children from King St Wharf and we thank parents for their support of this event.
Student Exchange
It is certainly true that our Yr 10 students “let their light shine”. This wonderful photo of Bethany Richardson (on Exchange in France) was recently shared with me. Bethany looks to be enjoying France and the marvellous benefits of this cultural opportunity.
Student Achievements
Sebastian Dobson will be competing in the Australian Schools Tennis Challenge in Albury. The Australian Schools Tennis Challenge has been the premier secondary school team Tennis event in the country since 1996. This event provides the opportunity for the best secondary school teams to come together to play each other and celebrate their achievements on a national stage.
Basketball
Congratulations to Nick Goerner, Rachel Kinghorn, Gus Miller, Yola Reinecke and James Wells who are part of our 1sts Basketball team. These students have been selected to represent Redlands at the Australian Schools Basketball Championships from 1-6 December. We wish them every success at this high-level competition.
