Men’s Health Forum 2019
On Friday 6 September, twenty Yr 10 students attended The Men’s Health Forum. This event aimed to encourage young males to re-evaluate their perspectives on pivotal issues concerning young men’s health and provide them with the tools to enhance decision-making. The forum showcased an array of speakers and small discussion sessions to help students converse on a range of important issues concerning their health and wellbeing.
Below are highlights from three of our students who attended on the day:
“My highlights of the day were when we went back to our groups and discussed the issues. It was a really nice thing for us to discuss these fairly confronting topics in a way that we (most likely) wouldn’t have in any other scenario and it was good to get different points from different people and bounce from idea to idea.” Josh Colleran
“The Men’s Mental Health Forum was very interesting. It enlightened me to how online behaviours such as media driven sexual objectification can have negative impacts on our brain and impede our potential relationships.” Sam Corneil
“My highlight at the Men’s Health Forum was meeting and interacting with other boys from different schools and learning from their experiences regarding topics surrounding youth mental health.” James Wells

Student Achievements
Congratulations to George Murphy for winning the National Mogul Title in Mt Buller last week. George did very well in his other competitions achieving 2nd place in the Australian National Championships U20 and 3rd place in the ABOM Mogul Challenge. Further results are available in other sections of Note Day.
Sebastian Dobson has been going from strength to strength with his tennis, and of late, he has participated in a number of tournaments. Last school holidays he entered the Ulladulla Under 16 Boys Bronze Tournament and achieved runner up in the singles finals and first place in the doubles. Last weekend he entered the Sydney University Tournament (Amateur Men’s Tournament) Silver and played with much older players as well as those of his age, winning his first round 3-6, 6-4, 10-8. His opponent was significantly older and so it was a fierce battle. We warmly congratulate Sebastian on his recent achievements.
