Year 10
Music Showcase Success
Congratulations to Mr Castelli’s Music class students, who presented a remarkable musical showcase on Wednesday evening. The entire class took creative control, organizing every detail from guest welcoming and lighting to diverse musical performances, including vocal, rock, jazz and classical. Their hard work and passion for music were evident throughout the evening, and we are incredibly proud of their dedication.
Sustainability Excursions
On Thursday, students David Abineno, Leela Gohil, Tessa Griffith, Grace Kothe, Mia Kwinter, Zachary Ressas, Dian Wichgers and Aoran Xiao participated in a learning experience at the Banish Recycling Hub and the Michael Mobbs Sustainability House. This outing, shared with students from other HICES schools, provided valuable insights into recycling and sustainable practices. On Friday, they will continue their sustainability journey at Hills Grammar School, engaging in a day of presentations, discussions and workshops with students from across the region. They’ll explore ideas and share what Redlands has accomplished so far in its sustainability efforts, learning from keynote speakers and peer-led panels.
Year 10 Camp – Myall Lakes
Next week, Year 10 students will embark on a memorable camp to Myall Lakes. To ensure a smooth start, students are asked to arrive by 6:30am on Monday for a prompt departure. The weather forecast for next week is changeable, please check the packing list available on the OEG-Redlands website, as it includes essential items for the trip. The large, orange Multix brand garbage bags are excellent for keeping everything dry and are a must to bring. A long sleeved non cotton shirt, a broad brimmed hat and 2x adequate water bottles are also essential items to bring on camp. Students are welcome to bring snacks and should also pack a light lunch for their first day. The group is scheduled to return to Redlands on Friday afternoon around 2:30pm.
Tomorrow Man and Tomorrow Woman Workshops
In Week 6, all Year 10 students will take part in Tomorrow Man and Tomorrow Woman workshops. These programs foster a supportive environment for young men and women to explore and challenge stereotypes, encouraging them to envision the individuals they aspire to become and the inclusive community they wish to build. These workshops are both impactful and thought-provoking.
