Year 10
Year 10 Leadership Project: Yr 6 Connect with Yr 10
This week, the Yr 6 and Yr 10 connection sessions continued in the Arnold Library, complemented by the ‘Year 6 Come to Lunch’ initiative. During lunchtime, Yr 6 students were invited to the Secondary Campus to experience what lunch is like from a secondary student’s perspective. They navigated the canteen line, engaged in lively conversations with Yr 10 students, and even participated in highly competitive games of handball on Redlands Lane. The Yr 10 students were exemplary Redlands representatives, enthusiastically modeling the school values to their younger counterparts with friendliness and enthusiasm. Thank you to the following Yr 10 students who volunteered their time to support our current Yr 6 students through these initiatives:

House Debating
The topics have been set; the teams have been chosen. Who will reign victorious this year in House Debating?
On Monday McDouall and Roseby took their first step down that path, with Roseby victorious! McDouall and Roseby debated a very contemporary and recently well-discussed topic, that convicted felons should not be allowed to participate in the Olympics. It was a close affair, with both teams offering up valuable arguments but, in a debate that revolved around three primary clashes, Roseby were able to take the lead in two of three, ultimately winning the debate.
NSW Snowsports Championships
Last week, a group of our talented students represented Redlands with pride at the NSW Snowsports Championships. The event was an incredible opportunity for students to showcase their skills and passion for winter sports while competing against some of the best young athletes from across the state.
Congratulations to the following Yr 10 students who represented the school at this event:
- Hunter Penney
- James Ford
- Byron Kendrigan
- Eva Fitzhenry
- Arkie Riches
Reminder About Phones
We would like to remind parents of our school’s policy regarding student phones to ensure a focused and distraction free learning environment.
For students in Years 7-10, phones must be kept in lockers at all times during the school day. If a student needs to contact home, they should visit the SSC to make a call from the front desk.
Teachers at the school are instructed to enforce this policy by confiscating phones and delivering them to the Senior School Office, should they be found to be used during the school day.
This policy is designed to support a productive and respectful learning environment for all students.
Yr 12 Legacy Gift Fundraiser – Non-School Dress Day Friday 30 August
To celebrate our time at Redlands, and to thank the School for its support, encouragement and opportunities that are offered to us, we have decided to support the means-tested Coralie Amos Scholarship Appeal. This scholarship provides an opportunity for a Redlands education to a student who may otherwise be unable to attend the School.
The Aim for this day is to raise money and to reflect on our experiences that we have been so fortunate to have at Redlands. As such we would love to be able to support a student so that they will be able to attend Redlands as well.
Fundraising will be conducted through a Non-school dress day this Friday 30 August with a gold coin donation at the gates in the morning.
Non-dress Day Theme: Favourite part of Redlands – showcase somewhere that you shine! You can wear a Sport jersey, club t-shirt, drama outfit or your house colours to celebrate why you love Redlands.
Yr 12 will be selling water bottles and keychains at Lunch in the Fahl Garden and Liggins Quad as well as asking students to share why they love Redlands. All proceeds will be going to the scholarship fund.
Thank you for joining the 2024 Cohort in their efforts. Thank you for your support.
