Year 10
Welcome Back!
We hope that the break provided a chance for some much-needed rest and relaxation, allowing students and families to recharge both mentally and physically for the term ahead. This term is a pivotal experience for our Yr 10 cohort, as half of the year group embarks on the Winter School experience. Back on our Sydney campus, students will continue to prepare and solidify their course selections and senior school experience.
We encourage Yr 10 students to approach their academic and co-curricular activities with enthusiasm and dedication, making the most of every opportunity to learn and grow. Remember, staying organized and maintaining a positive mindset will be key to navigating the challenges and achieving success.
Farewell to Winter School Students
This Saturday, we will say farewell to half of our year group as they depart for Winter School. We look forward to witnessing their growth as they navigate the ski slopes and engage in academic learning at Redlands High Country Campus. For those of us remaining at the Cremorne Campus, this period offers a wonderful opportunity to strengthen existing connections and form new and exciting relationships with peers in smaller classroom settings.
Today in Chapel, our Chaplain, Ms. Phillips, spoke to Yr 10 about the notion of peace—creating peaceful and harmonious relationships with our peers and ourselves. I encourage Yr 10 to reflect on how they can cultivate peace in their lives this term, especially as they encounter new situations and experience personal growth in light of the changed cohort dynamics.

Jeans for Genes Day Bake Sale
Did you know 1 in 20 children faces a birth defect or genetic disease? That equates to around 1 student per class!
With these facts, a cause close to our hearts at Redlands is ‘Jeans for Genes’ day. This event is all about supporting medical research and raising funds for children and families living with genetic disorders.
On Friday of Week 2, we will be promoting this cause with our own ‘Jeans for Genes’ day events. Students are encouraged to come to school in their favourite pair of jeans or denim clothing, as well as wearing the colour blue. For the privilege of dressing in causal clothes, a gold coin donation will be collected during Tutor. Students may also wish to purchase a blue ribbon before school for $2 or to buy a bake sale items in the Liggins Quad at recess.
Importantly, this year, Yr 10 are in charge of coordinating and running the bake sale. To this end, WE NEED YOUR HELP! If you are able to bake some cookies, slices, brownies or cupcakes for this event that will go a huge distance towards helping us to raise important funds for the event. Please see the details below for how to get involved!
