Year 10

Final Week of Term

As we approach the final day of the term, we want to encourage everyone to stay focused and finish strong. Here are a few important reminders to help us all maintain our high standards and ensure a smooth end to the term.

Uniform Reminder: Stay Smart and Warm

With the weather getting colder, it’s important to make sure our uniform standards don’t slip. Students should wear their blazers and navy school woollen jumpers to stay warm. Please remember that fleeces are not part of our uniform. Looking smart helps us feel smart and ready to tackle the last days of the term with pride.

All students are required to wear their Blazer to the End of Term Assembly of the final day of term, Friday 28 June.

Respecting Our Community: After-School Guidelines

We love seeing our students socialising and enjoying time together after school. However, due to end-of-term fatigue and a natural drop in self-management, we ask that social activities take place in the comfort and safety of someone’s home under parental supervision. This helps everyone stay safe and respectful of our community. Please note that students will not be allowed to visit local shops after school during the final week of the term.

Community leaders Workshop on Cohesion – Student reflection by Genevieve Holt

I had the wonderful opportunity to attend Kylea Tink’s workshop on Thursday 13 June. I had an enlightening and enjoyable time, speaking with community leaders from around our electorate, including a Minister, Principal and CEO to name a few! Presenters from ‘Together For Humanity’ spoke on the concept of being an “upstander” and the science behind stereotypes. Typically, their courses are run in schools, much of which I think could be really beneficial for Redlands. To top of the night, I even got a photo with the woman herself, Kylea Tink!

Overall, the evening was an amazing and rare chance for an insight into the workings of our leaders!

Athletics Carnival

Well done to the Yr 10 students who attended the Athletics Carnival with excitement and enthusiasm. It was wonderful to see such good participation in a range of events. A special highlight was watching the Yr 10 girls cheer on their peer, Le Shyan Chua, as she achieved an impressive javelin throw. The Yr 10 boys also added humour to the day by hyping each other up to jump over the very tall high jump bar. Throughout the day, Yr 10 demonstrated House spirit as part of the wider Redlands community, ensuring they cheered on their peers no matter how big or small the success.
