Year 10

R U Ok? Day

R U OK? Day serves as a National Day of Action across Australia, encouraging individuals to initiate conversations that possess the potential to profoundly impact someone’s life. This concept, though simple, is incredibly potent: by posing the query “R U OK?” and genuinely attentively to the response, we can cultivate an environment characterised by support and empathy, where individuals feel acknowledged, heard, and upheld. Amidst our busy lives, it’s all too easy to neglect the well-being of those in our midst. R U OK? Day serves as a poignant reminder that even modest acts of kindness and concern can exert a profound influence on someone grappling with life’s adversities. Whether it be a friend, a classmate, a teacher, or a family member, sparing a moment to inquire about their well-being can represent the inaugural stride toward extending the assistance they might require.

To mark this significant day, a small group of Year 10 students embarked on a visit to the Junior School, where they actively participated in a Q & A session during their assembly. Their discussion focused on anti-bullying efforts and the crucial role of being an “upstander,” someone who takes action against bullying. Additionally, they devoted their efforts to heightening awareness surrounding cultural inclusivity.

In a dynamic demonstration of solidarity and support, Year 10 students have committed to incorporating a “splash” of yellow into their attire on R U OK? Day. This collective display conveys a resounding message that they are unified in their mission to champion mental health awareness and kindness.

Winter School

A brief visit to Winter School allowed us to reconnect in person with students from our cohort, who have been greatly missed. It was heart-warming to witness our students are not only enjoying themselves immensely as they improve their skiing abilities but who are also fully dedicated to the academic program, which has already instilled a sense of routine and discipline.
