Dr. Tessa Opie Healthy Relationships and Sexuality Workshop 1 September
This week, students began the lead-in sessions in preparation for Dr. Opie’s workshop with Yr 10 on Thursday 1 September. During the past 18 months, Redlands has been updating our PDHPE and student wellbeing relationships and sexuality curriculum. To support our school curriculum, Yr 10 will be involved in a workshop facilitated by the fabulous Dr Tessa Opie (In Your Skin) and Redlands teachers. Further information shared in last week’s Note Day.
Burn Bright Altitude Day 8 September
In Wk 8, Burn Bright presenters will be working with Yr 10 students from 8:20am until noon delivering the Altitude Program. This program assists students in exploring and developing their own character. As students approach great heights in their academic journey, it’s crucial for students to explore the foundation of their character as this is what guides people in triumphs and challenges. The program includes the skills and reflections needed to achieve long term personal success, focusing on healthy and intentional relationships and the idea that success is cultivated from a strong support network and especially, a strong understanding of one’s character.
This program builds on discussions students have been having ongoing through their Pastoral Care Program, Dr. Opie’s Healthy Relationships Workshop and further preparation for senior years as students prepare for the last term of Yr 10.
