University and Careers Advisors

Students continue to engage in Career Profiling meetings this week. Additionally, Careers Newsletter is being sent to students from Redlands Careers and University Advisors with opportunities to gain further information on various universities, TAFE and guest speakers. Please encourage your teen to keep an eye on email for these updates and upcoming events offered.  

Secondary School Individual Portraits and Sibling Photos – Friday 4 March.

On Friday 4 March, Yr 7 to 12 students will be accompanied by their Year Advisors to Redlands Hall for portrait photos after 8.20am. If your child is unable to have their portrait taken on 4 March Please inform your Year Advisor.  A catch-up date for missed portraits will be offered on 18 March at school,  or by appointment with Melba Studios, located in Artarmon.

Secondary School Sibling Photos will take place on 4 March from 7.15am-8.20am in Redlands Hall. To order Sibling Photos, please click here, enter the password ‘ALLISTER’ and select Siblings Order Form before 26 February.

Parents/Carers who have children in the Junior and Senior Campuses and are attending the sibling photo on 4 March are requested to wait for their children outside the Gerard Street gate until after the photo, should they want to accompany their Junior Campus children to school afterwards.  

All students are required to be wearing their full school uniform, including blazers. Boys must be clean shaven with hair that has been cut so that it is away from eyes, ears and collar. Girls with hair touching the collar should tie it back with navy accessories (elastics, ribbon, scrunchies). No hair dye, make-up or nail polish is permitted. No jewellery is to be worn other than one pair of plain gold or silver studs in ear lobes.

Balmoral Swim Schools Relay Challenge

Redlands will be participating in the 2022 Balmoral Swim Schools Relay Challenge on Sunday 3 April.The Schools Relay Challenge is a community-based initiative where schools help raise funds for the Children’s Cancer Institute, increase awareness of this important cause and importantly have fun participating in an open water swim relay.

How it works:

  • Each team has 4 swimmers.
  • Each swimmer swims a leg of the relay 200m.
  • Participants can swim in their school year category, or an older category
  • Entry cost are $15 for each swimmer

If you are interested in taking part in the 2022 Balmoral Schools Swim Relay Challenge or donating to the event on Sunday 3rd April, please follow these registration instructions:

  1. Create an account at this link. If you competed last year, you will already have an account.
  2. Complete the registration form. A section of the form must be completed by your parents/carers.
  3. Send me an email confirming your registration. Please include:
  • Your name
  • The full name of your teammates (3 other students)
  • Your House (there will be points awarded to the house with the highest participation.

 

Student Congratulations

Noah Berbic earned 16th place at the 2022 Cannonball Mountain Biking Competition Thredbo this month. This competition is gravity inspired and includes 5 days worth of challenges for all ages. Congratulations Noah!

Alissandra Braden is congratulated for earning 2nd place in the Nationals Sailing Competition. As a result she has been invited to the ILCA 4 Youth World Championships 2022, an international event. This is an incredible accomplishment and she is wished all the best in her future competitions at this level.
