Winter School

It was State race week this past week and there was much activity around Campus. Congratulations to all the students who made the Redlands Nationals team after a busy week at State competition.

Academic classes have continued to go well as many students are now making great use of the optional Friday and Sunday night Prep times for their studies.

Most students have now had the opportunity to do some training in the terrain park with their instructors. To help develop these skills we’ve also had specific ski and snowboard park instructors on the weekends so students are able to improve their skills on rails, jumps and other terrain park obstacles.

Saturday night was great fun as students and staff tuned their singing voices for Karaoke Night.

There was a mixture of classics and some much newer songs, with some great singing from everyone throughout the night.

“Karaoke night was a fun night that most people enjoyed. I had a good time with all the singing.” Tom Hartnell.

“Mr Gregory’s cover of Bat Out of Hell will hopefully be demonstrated at the final dinner. I think a little peer pressure should do the job. In short, Karaoke Night will certainly not be forgotten..” Callum Wardman-Browne.

The evening wrapped up with a huge dance off to the timeless Village People classic, YMCA.

On Sunday, everyone had the option to either have a full day of free skiing or a picnic at the trout hatchery. Students at the hatchery enjoyed playing frisbee and watching the trout splash around in the river.

“It was a lot of fun playing frisbee, eating food and spending time with friends on a Sunday and get to sleep in and rest. It was also interesting to see the fish and get to feed them.” Ella Delaney.

Thank you to Helen who organised a great barbeque lunch and delicious rocky road for those at the picnic. On Sunday afternoon students had free time then enjoyed the final movie of a multi-week Harry Potter marathon.

This coming weekend is the Exeat weekend and we wish our students and their families a fun and safe weekend and look forward to their return on Monday.
