Winter School
It’s been a great start to the season at Winter School for 2019. Everyone arrived on Saturday afternoon and from that moment on, it’s been all go for the 2019 intake, moving into a new environment and what’s now home for the next nine weeks.
From trying to put all their clothes neatly away to the setting up a 40 minute play list for the daily bus trip to Thredbo, there’s been a range of new and interesting challenges for everyone. Often the most confronting and stark change to everyone’s regular routine is the realisation that it’s their responsibility to setup and clean up after each meal.
Yet despite this somewhat new challenge for many, some students have taken to it with great enthusiasm and were overhead saying whilst on duty:
“Mop where no man has mopped before. One small squeeze for man one giant mop for mankind” – Sophia Maxwell
It’s been great to see how quickly everyone has settled in and hear about their first few days at Winter School.
“Meeting new people and the food is really good” – Julia Saunders
“The ski instructors are really good, very nice, encouraging and educational” – Olivia Vigneault
“Delicious food, lovely teachers, great community” – Lara Stanbridge
“The skiing is sick, food is great and everyone’s super nice” – Alex Ridler
“It’s a great experience and the skiing is super fun” – Kai Heath
With 21 students learning guitar, any guitar donations would be much appreciated.
Any staff or student deliveries for Winter School can be sent to PO Box 91 Jindabyne 2627.
The first weekend is also rapidly approaching, everyone’s looking forward to the chance to get checked off by their ski and snowboard instructors so they can free-ride with their friends for the first time. It’s been a very busy, but great first week at Winter School for 2019.
