Visual Arts

As Visual Arts Captain it has been very exciting to see Visual Arts students engaging with Extracurricular Visual Arts classes on campus, all together again this year. Here are some photos from Extracurricular Visual Ceramics and Extracurricular Visual Painting this week.

Recently, many students from both the Junior School and the Secondary School entered a competition called Australia Art in Nature. The winners of this competition were featured in a music video which was released on World Water Day on 22 March. Congratulations to everyone who entered. You can view the final video and website via the following links:

We are also excited to announce the introduction of Visual Arts pockets. In addition to the usual two years of commitment, students will also have to enter Art competitions or participate in school-based exhibitions. This is a great reward for those students who spend many hours in the Art Studios outside of class hours.  As emerging artists, it is important to enter Art competitions to start to get our works seen in galleries and potentially win prizes or sell works.

Here are some upcoming art competitions including our local Mosman Youth Art Prize. Redlands students have had great success in this exhibition in the past and I encourage you all to enter.

We will continue to keep you updated about upcoming Art competitions for students to get involved in throughout the year.

Another exciting opportunity is the National Art School workshops in the coming holidays. They offer a large variety of courses for all ages.
