Whitehouse Institute of Design | Foundation Portfolio Workshop

Macquarie Gifted and Talented Entry Program 

Are you a high achieving high school student with the capacity to take on extra-curricular study? You may qualify through our Gifted and Talented pathway to secure an early offer at Macquarie. 

As part of this entry pathway, you’ll study university subjects alongside your school subjects. 

You’ll be eligible for an early offer (before your final Year 12 exams) to a Macquarie degree if you complete one of the following options: 

Pathway option 1: 

  • Complete an accelerated HSC subject with Band 6 or E4 and complete one university-approved unit with a distinction or higher. 

Pathway option 2: 

  • Complete Year 10 with an average of ‘High’ to ‘Outstanding’ performance (B+) across all subjects, and complete two university-approved units with a distinction or higher in both units. 

The Gifted and Talented Pathway is delivered on a session and term basis to fit in with your personal timetable and learning preference.

National Youth Science Forum (NYSF) 2022 

Applications are now open for students who want to be a part of the National Youth Science Forum in 2022. 

The NYSF Year 12 Program offers an exciting range of in-person and digital science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) experiences for participants across Australia. If you’re a year 11 student and passionate about STEM, apply now! 

The program will run for 12 days from 10 to 25 January 2022. It will be delivered as a mixed-mode experience – a combination of in-person and digital events. For those who choose not to or who are unable to attend the in-person visits, there will be a range of digital STEM visits across the week. Our digital program has the ability to feature a vast array of speakers from Australia and around the world and will feature STEM experts from many of the in-person locations and beyond.

Value: $3,000 AUD

The Gallipoli Scholarships provide financial assistance to the most deserving and meritorious Australian applicants, commencing their first year of tertiary study at a University or TAFE at Degree, Diploma or Advanced Diploma level, in the year of application, as well as two specific Scholarships for second and third year Gallipoli Scholars.

Canvas Art Award 2022 

If you are a high school student with a knack for drawing, painting or using creative digital mediums, we invite you to creatively interpret the quote below into an illustrated scene: 

“Imagination should be used, not to escape reality but to create it.” – Colin Wilson 

How you interpret the quote is entirely up to you, however you must include a yellow umbrella somewhere in your scene. 

All artists are unique in their abilities, to reflect that we are opening the competition to various mediums. You can submit:

KYD School Writing Prize 

The KYD School Writing Prize gives a voice to young Australians. 

In 2022, we are seeking entries from students that explore the idea of ‘hope’ in Australia and the world at large. 

We are looking for writing that responds to this theme as widely and creatively as possible in the following genres: 

  • Short fiction 
  • Essays 
  • Personal reflections 
  • Memoir and biography 
  • Genre pieces (fantasy, sci-fi, historical, romance, crime) 

Entry to the KYD School Writing Prize is open exclusively to KYD School Members and their students. There is no additional entry fee.

Wakakirri Dance Challenge 

The Wakakirri Story-Dance Festival is a national program for schools that develops student engagement and wellbeing through participation in the performing arts. Schools participate by creating Story-Dances which they perform in live theatres in capital cities and selected regional areas around Australia. Schools in remote and regional areas can participate via Wakakirri Video. 

Wakakirri is open to Primary & Secondary schools (public and private), Dance Schools and Community Groups. 

There are plenty of great prizes to be won in a variety of categories.

In this Virtual Experience Program, you’ll experience what life as a Software Engineer at EA would be like. We want you to feel empowered from the beginning with key insights into what lies ahead in your career at EA. We are always interested in hearing from keen and willing school students who are looking to gain a better understanding of what a day in the life of an employee at Hutcheon and Pearce is like. During your work experience, you will gain hands on knowledge and experience of your chosen role and a better understanding of what life could look like post-secondary studies should you choose to pursue an apprenticeship with Hutcheon and Pearce. 

We predominately offer work experience to budding Service Technicians but also have opportunities for anyone looking for Parts, Sales or Administration based work experience.

For students in years 10-12, F3 can arrange work experience in financial services for a few days during the holidays through to a week as required for your year 10 work experience placement. This is arranged with F3 through your careers adviser on an as requested basis.
