Congratulations to all of our students who competed over the last two weeks in the SSA National Open at Falls Creek and ABOM Moguls and Interschools at Mt Buller.
Australian Interschools Snowsports Championships 2019
Another incredible Australian Interschools Snowsports Championships had 334 Schools, 3674 event entries and 315 volunteers. Redlands team placed 2nd overall in the Senior Coed Schools in Australia.
Thank you to all of the competitors, families, staff and volunteers who took part over the past six days. All Redlands competitors supported each other whilst enduring the blizzard conditions on the race courses and were valiant in their efforts against ever increasing strong competition. Outstanding team results were:
Division 1 Boys SBGS in 1st place (3rd year in a row)
Division 2 Boys SBX 2nd
Division 3 Girls Moguls 2nd
Division 2 Girls SBGS and SBX 3rd
Division 2 Boys Moguls 3rd
Division 3 Girls SBX 3rd
Strong individual results were:
George Murphy – 1st in Moguls (5th year in a row)
Daisy Thomas and Tasman Forest – 1st in Slopestyle
Tasman Forest – 2nd in SBGS
Sienna Wessels – 3rd in SBGS
Daisy Thomas – 3rd in Moguls
Avie Keller – 4th in Moguls
Nick Goerner – 4th in SBX
SSA National Open Races in Falls Creek August 27-28
In Ski X, Sienna Wessels progressed through to the Quarter and Semi Finals to the Small Final to end 5th. In Alpine Slalom she ranked 13th and GS 17th, both which she was very happy with, especially considering the strength of the competition.
Friends of Snowsports
The AGM will be held on Monday 16 September at 6.00pm in H1.2. All Snowsports parents are welcome. Please come along to join the committee in 2020 or just meet the members and vote for new positions. Meetings are held once a month during winter term.
End of Season Celebration
All Snowsports families and competitors are invited to celebrate another fantastic season by attending the Annual Snowsports Presentation on Friday 27 September from 6.00-9.00pm at the Cammeray Golf Club. To help with catering RSVP by booking here.
