Clean Up Australia Day

All Redlands students and their families are encouraged to participate in the activity to make a positive contribution to our local community. This year we are changing location and will be focusing our energy on cleaning up the Spit Reserve. Many Redlands students have spent time in this area for various sports including training sessions in the park and Rowing on the harbour. This is our chance to make a positive difference. We will be fanning out from the Redlands Rowing sheds and seeing if we can remove as much rubbish as possible from the park and the harbour foreshore.

Date: Sunday 3rd May
Arrive: 1.00pm for a short briefing
Clean up: 1.15 – 2.30pm
Afternoon tea: 2.30pm, BYO some snacks to share

Mother’s Day Classic – Sign Up Now

Register Now

The Redlands team has been registered on the Mother’s Day Classic site so it’s time to get your group together and register. There are 87 days to go until the the big day, Sunday 13 May.  Over recent years Team Redlands has slipped on the leaderboard of competing schools so our honour is at stake!  This is a wonderful family oriented event with categories for serious runners through to fun runners of all ages. Proceeds raised from this event are donated to Breast Cancer Research. Redlands pink caps and a new pink Team Redlands t-shirt will be available from the Uniform Shop by the end of April.  All Redlands winter sports teams are encouraged to incorporate the event as part of their training and team building.

You will need to complete the registration process, nearly all they way to payment before you can select to join the Redlands team (password = shine).

Junior School Mentoring

Secondary students in Yrs 9 – 11 are encouraged to sign up for mentoring in the Junior School Maths or Reading Clubs. These after school academic support programs run on Wednesday afternoons during Terms 2 and 3. Secondary students are paired with a Junior School student who, through weekly one to one mentoring, will develop confidence and ability. Secondary students will be provided with some training in mentoring in the last few weeks of Term 1 so that they have the confidence and awareness needed for the role. The reading or maths material will be provided by the teachers from the Junior School who will always be on hand for support. The most important aspect of this Service activity is consistent, regular weekly attendance as the Junior School buddy is depending on you.
