Service

It has been a busy start to the year and the Service Prefects, Nono and Hugh have done great job promoting, organising and supporting the various service activities that have been occuring around the Secondary School. Next term is shaping up to also be a busy and thought provoking term for Redlands students.

There are 32 days to go until the Mother’s Day Classic, Sunday 13 May. Team Redlands registrations are gradually rising with 45 registered, so looking good but a way to go to match last year’s team of 111 runners and walkers. This is a wonderful family oriented event with categories for serious runners through to fun runners of all ages. Proceeds raised from this event are donated to Breast Cancer Research. Redlands pink caps and a new Pink Team Redlands tshirt will be available from the Uniform Shop by the end of April.  The Redlands Rugby teams are planning to use the event as part of their training and team building.

Register your interest in joining the Redlands Team. You will need to complete the registration process, nearly all they way to payment before you can select to join the Redlands team.

Cambodia Service Fundraising

Monday night was the annual Battle of the Bands event in Redlands Hall. It was an amazing night with many great performances. This was the first fundraising activity for all of the students who will be travelling to Cambodia at the end of the year. There were lots of cakes and other baked goods on sale and the Sausage Sizzle was well attended. In total the team raised $3000. These funds are whole group contributions and from here, students will set out to meet their personal fundraising target. All fundraising will be split between the Service project they undertake during their trip and a donation to M’Lop Tapang, who we have a long standing relationship with.

Tanzania Service Fundraising

This Tuesday was International Day and the students traveling to Tanzania organised a successful Sausage Sizzle and cake stall which added to the lunchtime buzz in the Liggins Quad. Students are also personally undertaking fundraising to meet their targets. Some students have already exceed this target and are to be congratulated. All of the funds raised will be used by the students on the Service projects they undertake during their trip in July. $1270 was raised.
