Jeans for Genes Day
We will be looking out for the best denim outfits tomorrow as we support Jeans for Genes Day. Students participating will be required to contribute at least one gold coin for our fundraising efforts to support research into genetic conditions. Please note the best dressed in denim will get into next week’s Note Day!
Fiji Service Learning Trip – October
Students in Yr 9 have kicked off their planning and fundraising for their Fiji Service Learning expedition in the October school holidays. Students will be undertaking a Service project in Nausori Highlands, an area famous for its remote villages, rich in cultural tradition and appreciation of the land. During this time they will also billeted with families in the community. This expedition has both a Service and an environmental focus with students visiting an eco-lodge overlooking Momi Bay. The students spend time learning about the connection between what happens on land and how it impacts marine life. They will also spend time in the National Park of Sigatoka sand dunes participating in a beach cleanup, some reforestation planting and studying the components of a reef ecosystem, as well as building fish houses and coral planting.
Students will be seeking opportunities to do household chores at home and with family and friends to raise their contribution to make the Service project possible.
Matthew Talbot
Thank you to all of the families and students who have taken time to bring in donations for our Winter Appeal for Matthew Talbot. We are down to our last days for donations to come in. Please bring in new underwear, toiletries and also things like old towels.
