Secondary Sport
Holiday Training
The Sport Department will be offering a range of holiday trainings throughout the third week of the June/July break. These are a great way to prepare students for the planned competition scheduled to begin on 25 July.
We will also be offering a range of fitness sessions ran out of the Fitness Centre and Undercroft. These sessions are open to all students competing in a rep sport and will focus on speed and power.
A registration link to all applicable sessions can be found here.
A deadline of Wednesday 24 June is set for the completion of this registration for students to secure a spot at these sessions.
Mouthguards
There will be a representative from ProFit mouthguards at the school next week, Monday 22 June. ProFit mouthguards are professionally fitted onsite using dental moulds and offer protection for teeth and gums whilst also reducing the severity of concussions caused by contact sports.
For any student wishing to be fitted please contact Mr Jack Gooding and please complete the registration form on Redlands Pulse. These mouthguards are recommended for all Winter Representative Sports in Redlands including Hockey, Football and Rugby.
Athletics
Unfortunately, we have had to postpone the Redlands Secondary School Athletics Carnival to Term 3. More details regarding this Carnival will be posted in the coming weeks.
We will continue training this Friday (19 June) afternoon on the Junior School Oval from 3.30-5-00pm. If you are interested in joining this session, please email Mr Ellis. These sessions are great for students looking to improve their speed and agility and their endurance, particularly as we look towards sport resuming in Term 3. Please note if you have Football training, you need to attend Football training as the priority.

All players are asked to look at Redlands Pulse, Note Day or email communication from Ms Howard for the most up to date information regarding the current training schedule.

Rugby
There will be an additional training session this week with the Under 15s, Under 16s and Opens all training at Primrose Field this Friday. Session will run from 3.30-5.00pm. Students are reminded to bring their own water bottles to each session along with boots, jersey and Rugby shorts.
Tennis
It was great to see all Tennis students out on court during the week and it was fantastic to hear the coaches comment on how impressed they are with all students’ attitude and effort at all training sessions. The Tennis training schedule will remain the same for the last two weeks of term with all groups training on either Tuesday and Saturday or Thursday and Saturday. The schedule is available on Redlands Pulse. During the final week of the school holidays we will be running two Tennis camps. All students are encouraged to attend. Group 3 and 4 should enrol in the Development Camp and Group 1 and 2 should enrol in the High Performance Camp here. Both camps area a great opportunity to improve individual Tennis skills through challenging drills and match/point play.
