Community Gathering
On Monday afternoon, the Yr 7 Meet and Greet was held on the Fahl Garden. Mr Jimmy Tod-Hill, Year Advisor spoke glowingly of the cohort and their achievements thus far. It was wonderful to be able to share stories of camp and the early days of high school and put faces to names.
Last night, Yr 11 students and their parents/carers gathered in Redlands Hall to ‘Begin the Stage 6 Journey Together’. The evening was very well attended and our Academic Deans of HSC and IB, Ms Lucy Benjamin and Mr Darren Taylor, delivered an informative and inspiring address. The slides for the evening can be found here.
At last night’s event and last week’s Yr 12 Evening ‘Let’s Learn and Celebrate Together’, Mr Taylor and Ms Benjamin spoke directly and candidly about the high impact strategy of a Study Schedule. What we strongly encourage students to follow is a School-Life-Fit Schedule which clearly demarcates time in the day for school, home learning, revision and study (which may include assessment preparation or note consolidation), exercise, down time such as watching tv or cooking, social media time, sport training and matches, etc. By scheduling the various activities in their lives, our young people stay busy, develop effective routines and habits and take structured steps to achieve their purpose – to be a student who is safe, supported and challenged to achieve personal excellence. We thought you might like to see some fine examples of School-Life-Fit Schedules and Senior Study Schedules belonging to current Redlands students. All students have been de-identified.

In the 1500m, Isaac led for the first 3 laps and in the last lap, got overtaken by 3 other runners, and managed to run them all down in the last 100 with a big kick – a really exciting race!

Following Isaac’s result at the NSW Junior Athletics Championships, Elizabeth Whelan (Yr 9) came 2nd in the U15 Hammer Throw with a throw of 34.65m and national qualifier and Amber Kusano (Yr 9) finished in 7th place in the 800m final with a time of 2:20.00
