Staff Appreciation Day – Friday 30 October

It has been an extraordinary year and one that all of us will never forget! This year the teachers and staff of Redlands have gone above and beyond what we ever could have expected. At Redlands, we traditionally hold a morning tea to thank our teachers on Teacher Appreciation Day and parents provide the sweet and savoury treats. This year, we are extending our thank you to all Redlands staff and instead of a morning tea, we are showing our appreciation in the form of a small gift for each member of staff that we have sourced from the Buy from the Bush Campaign for Bushfire relief. The RPFA sourced some delicious cookies that were individually wrapped for each staff member. Thanks to everyone who made a contribution to this effort.

Second Hand Book Sale

Towards the end of Term 4, the RPFA is going to facilitate the sale of second hand textbooks in the Secondary School. The aim of this is to reduce landfill and waste for our textbooks once we have completed our academic year, and to ease the financial burden on families as they organise textbooks needed for 2021. Students will be able to buy and sell books – more information will be shared over the coming weeks; we know many of you are still using them to study for exams right now!

Walks on Tracks

We will be walking from Sirius Cove to Clifton Gardens next Wednesday 4 November from 8.40am. Meet at Bradleys Head Road/Middle Head Road roundabout. For more information, please contact Ann Marie Kimber on 0406691533 or amkimber@gmail.com.

Book Club

Redlands Book Club welcomes Redlands parents and alumni meeting twice a term to discuss a book in a welcoming, social environment. Our recent meeting discussed American Dirt by Jeanine Cummins, which we would all highly recommend, to raise awareness of the plight of central American refugees.

Our next Book Club will be held on Friday 4 December to discuss Kate Grenville’s A Room Made of Leaves – a fictional account of our early colonial days featuring Elizabeth Macarthur. Please contact Lerida Grant for more details on lerida@bigpond.net.au.
