Mother’s Day Classic
Our next event is the Mother’s Day Classic fun run and walk raising funds and awareness for breast cancer research. Join the Redlands MDC20 team in the virtual race or donate to this great cause here.
The aim of the Mother’s Day Classic is to deliver a fun, healthy and inspirational community event that brings the community together on Mother’s Day to support and remember those touched by breast cancer. Have fun, get active and help us raise funds online for vital breast cancer research.
The Redlands community has taken part in the Mother’s Day Classic for many years and we don’t want this year to be any different. We’re calling on students and family members, staff and alumni to sign up and support this wonderful event as it goes virtual.
We challenge participants to walk or run 4km or 8km – anytime, anywhere, in your living room, at the local park or even in your backyard – on or before Mother’s Day (Sunday 10 May) and be a part of something big.
Join the Redlands MDC20 Team and show your support for our community!

Book Club
The Redlands Book Club has joined the online fun and had its first Xoom meeting to discuss A Match Made in Mehendi by Nandini Bajpal. We had the great thrill of being joined online by the book’s author, an Indian born Australian, now based in Boston, USA. We heard about her inspiration for the novel and the intriguing process of writing it.
Our next reads for Term 2 are The Single Ladies of Jacaranda Retirement Home by Joanna Neil, followed by Bad Blood by John Carreyrou, an expose on the medical start up, Theranos.
Our next meeting is Thursday 7 May. It will most likely be a Zoom call and the time has yet to be decided. Please email Lerida Grant on lerida@bigpond.net.au for more information.
