Walks on Tracks
Weekly guided walks around the northern Sydney area are organised by Ann Marie, a wonderful RPFA volunteer. This is a great way to meet other Redlands parents and get in shape, plus a wonderful way to spend a morning discovering the many paths of the Sydney area.
The invitation for walks is open, so if you have friends or family who you think would like to come along, please feel free to bring them. Dogs are also welcome on most walks.
Walks are roughly 11/2- 2 hours and for those with the time we love to stop for a coffee afterwards. We have planned all the walks for the term so mark your calendars. First three shared here:

- Wed 21 Feb: Hunters Hill. Meet at Wollwich Pier Hotel 2 Gale Street Wollwich For an 8.40 departure.
- Wed 28 Feb: Kirribilli to Pyrmont. Meet at the base of the stairs up to Harbour Bridge, Broughton St, Kirribilli. Ferry back. (No dogs)
Any questions, please contact Ann Marie on 0406 691 533.
Book Club
The Redlands Book Club is a group of Redlands parents – past and present – who share a love of reading. New members are always welcome! The Book Club meets twice each school term to discuss a book, rotating among members’ homes. Occasionally, outings are also organised to events, movies or shows that are tied in with books, including annual attendance at the Sydney Writer’s festival in May. If you would like to join Book Club, or simply want to know more, please contact Monica or Sabiha.
- Mon 19 Feb: we will discuss The Seven Sisters by Lucinda Riley. All welcome even if you have not read or heard of the book
Behind the Scenes with RPFA: Meet your RPFA Committee
The Redlands Parents and Friends Association (RPFA) is a group of committed parents who support the broad activities of the Redlands School’s diverse community. The RPFA is your first point of contact for Redlands community events or support. Check back here each week to meet 2024 committee members or to find to how to get involved.
RPFA FIVE with Vice-President Carrie Taylor

Name: Carrie Taylor
Role: RPFA Vice President
Kiddos: Noah (Yr 8), Blake (Yr 5) and Mia (Yr 4)
If you could choose a RPFA theme song (or super hero) what would be the title name?
I am going to go with Guardians of the Galaxy, and our theme song would be “Äin’t No Mountain High Enough”. I love the characters in Guardians of the Galaxy – they are all so different, unique and somewhat hilarious in their own way. They may not appear very powerful as individuals, but together they are a formidable bunch. We are similar in that sense- the community is so diverse, but we all bring something special and unique to the table. Together, we can accomplish wonderful things- and have lots of fun along the way.
Why did you decide to join RPFA?
We joined the School three years ago, in 2021. It was quite a stressful time with Covid still around and schools going in and out of online learning. It was not the best time to change schools, but we took the plunge. It was the best decision. The school community was unbelievably welcoming and my children made great friends from day 1. This is something that our family is immensely grateful for, and being in the RPFA is an opportunity for us to give back to the community.
If you could trade places with your children for a day what would you most want to experience?
I would love to trade places with my children not just for the day but for a whole year so they can make my lunches and drive me to school and activities every day! Jokes aside, I would love to experience being in some of the amazing clubs on offer. Hello Lego club in Junior School, and Chess & Boardgames club in Secondary School? Wow, I wish I had such opportunities when I was in school.
Parent Power Needed: Join the Team in 2024!
Teachers and Class Parent Coordinators are doing a Shout Out for Class Parents and Year Coordinators, particularly for Kindy Yellow and Two White. A great opportunity to meet other parents and get involved in your school community. All you will need is a sense of fun, enjoy people wrangling, a working with children check and have a spare couple of hours a week. Please fill in this form to indicate your interest.
