Redlands Parents and Friends
This week, for World Teachers’ Day, we would like to thank all the teachers at Redlands for their hard work and dedication, continually inspiring our children on their learning journeys with patience and compassion. Our committee has organised morning teas with pastries for our fabulous teachers and support staff in Prep and Junior Schools on Thursday and in Secondary School on Friday.
Annual General Meeting TONIGHT!
All parents and guardians of current students are invited and encouraged to attend the Redlands Parents and Friends Association Annual General Meeting (AGM) tonight, Thursday 26 Oct at 6:30pm in the Liggins Building L1.4. The AGM will include a report from our Principal, a review of the RPFA’s activities this year and plans for next year, and the election of the RPFA Committee and Executive Committee.
Second Hand Uniform Sale
We will be holding a sale of Second Hand Uniforms on Friday 27 Oct from 8-10am at the RPFA unit at 1 Monford Place, around the corner from the Uniform Shop.
As usual, our Second Hand Uniform Sales provide great value for families and also give each of us an opportunity to contribute to the clear benefits of recycling. If you have clean, current uniforms to donate to this cause, please drop them off in the yellow bin in the Uniform Shop! Please note we are not collecting any items for recycling (eg old sports uniforms) at this time. Please also do not bring in: used socks; dirty, stained or torn items; items purchased from external parties (Marks & Spencer’s, Next) as we cannot sell these items.
Funds raised are contributed towards the means-tested Redlands Foundation Scholarship Fund. We will only be accepting payments by EFTPOS. Please remember to bring your own bags for your purchases.
Yr 12 Collection
We will also be collecting uniforms and textbooks that are no longer required from our Yr 12 graduates as soon as all exams are over on Friday 10 Nov from 10.30am to noon at the RPFA unit at 1 Monford Place.

Walks on Tracks
Weekly guided walks around the northern Sydney area are organised by an RPFA volunteer. This is a great way to meet other Redlands parents and get in shape, plus a wonderful way to spend a morning discovering the many paths of the Sydney area.
The invitation for walks is open, so if you have friends or family who you think would like to come along, please feel free to bring them. Dogs are also welcome on most walks.
Our walk next week on Wednesday 1 Nov is in Bondi for Sculptures by the Sea. Meet at Bondi Beach carpark or liaise with Ann Marie for carpooling.
Any questions, please contact Ann Marie on 0406 691 533.
Book Club
The Redlands Book Club is a group of Redlands parents – past and present – who share a love of reading. New members are always welcome! The Book Club meets twice each school term to discuss a book, rotating among members’ homes. Occasionally, outings are also organised to events, movies or shows that are tied in with books, including annual attendance at the Sydney Writer’s festival in May. If you would like to join Book Club, or simply want to know more, please contact Monica or Sabiha.
Our Christmas lunch is planned for Thursday 30 Nov, where we will be discussing Mans’s Search for Meaning by Viktor Frankl.
