Redlands Parents and Friends
Annual General Meeting
All parents and guardians of current students are invited and encouraged to attend the Redlands Parents and Friends Association Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Thursday 26 October at 6:30pm. Please register your attendance here. If you would like more information on how to become involved, we would love to hear from you. Please email us and we will be in touch. Nominations for RPFA Committee member roles will close at 6:30pm on Tuesday 24 October.
Second Hand Uniform Sale
We will be holding a sale of second hand uniforms on Friday 27 October from 8-10am at the RPFA unit at 1 Monford Place, around the corner from the Uniform Shop.
As usual, our Second Hand Uniform Sales provide great value for families and also give each of us an opportunity to contribute to the clear benefits of recycling. If you have clean, current uniforms to donate to this cause, please drop them off in the yellow bin in the Uniform Shop! Please note we are not collecting any items for recycling (eg old sports uniforms) at this time. Please also do not bring in: used socks; dirty, stained or torn items; items purchased from external parties (Marks & Spencer’s, Next) as we cannot sell these items.
Funds raised are contributed towards the means-tested Redlands Foundation Scholarship Fund. We will only be accepting payments by EFTPOS. Please remember to bring your own bags for your purchases.
Teacher Appreciation
To celebrate World Teachers’ Day, the RPFA will be providing a delicious morning tea for teachers next week – on the Junior Campus on Thursday 26 October and on the Senior Campus on Friday 27 October.
Junior School parents are also organising a farewell gift for Head Ari Guha after 18 years of service. Click here to share a farewell message and/or photo. The deadline for contributions to the Memory Book is Monday 23 October, allowing time to design and print the book.

Friends of Football Update
The FOF Committee and its members are thrilled to congratulate our 2024 Football Captains, Hannah Garde and Liam McFarlane. We look forward to working together and are excited for the year ahead!
Also this week, at our AGM, we said a fond goodbye to longtime committee members and past Chairs, Honi Irvine and Gary Lazzarotto, as their Redlands’ journey comes to an end. Thank you for your continuous contributions and support of the football community throughout your many years at Redlands. And, while we had to say some goodbyes, we are excited to announce Kelly Drew was elected 2024-2025 Co-Chair and we appointed Tom Garde (Hannah’s dad) and Andy McFarlane (Liam’s dad) as our 2024 Captain Representatives. Congratulations to you all – and thank you for being involved.
We’ve already started planning some fun events for the 2024 Football Season. If you’d like to know more or to have your name added to our general email list please contact Friends of Football.
Walks on Tracks
Weekly guided walks around the northern Sydney area are organised by an RPFA volunteer. This is a great way to meet other Redlands parents and get in shape, plus a wonderful way to spend a morning discovering the many paths of the Sydney area.
The invitation for walks is open, so if you have friends or family who you think would like to come along, please feel free to bring them. Dogs are also welcome on most walks.
Our walk next week on Wednesday 25 October is a mystery walk in Clontarf followed by brunch at Pauline’s. Meet at 5 Linkmead Ave Clontarf with a plate to share afterwards at 8.40am.
Any questions, please contact Ann Marie on 0406 691 533 or Pauline on 0447 818 598.
Book Club
The Redlands Book Club is a group of Redlands parents – past and present – who share a love of reading. New members are always welcome! The Book Club meets twice each school term to discuss a book, rotating among members’ homes. Occasionally, outings are also organised to events, movies or shows that are tied in with books, including annual attendance at the Sydney Writer’s festival in May. If you would like to join Book Club, or simply want to know more, please contact Monica or Sabiha.
Our next meeting will be on Wednesday 25 October at 7pm. We will be discussing Chai Time at Cinnamon Gardens by Shankari Chandran.
Our Christmas lunch is planned for Thursday 30 November, where we will be discussing Mans’s Search for Meaning by Viktor Frankl
