Walks on Tracks
Weekly guided walks around the northern Sydney area are organised by an RPFA volunteer. This is a great way to meet other Redlands parents and get in shape, plus a wonderful way to spend a morning discovering the many paths of the Sydney area.
The invitation for walks is open, so if you have friends or family who you think would like to come along, please feel free to bring them. Dogs are also welcome on most walks.
Our walk next week on Wed 16 Aug is around Beauty Point. Meet at the Orso carpark at 8.40am.
Any questions, please contact Ann Marie on 0406 691 533.
Book Club
The Redlands Book Club is a group of Redlands parents – past and present – who share a love of reading. New members are always welcome! The Book Club meets twice each school term to discuss a book, rotating among members’ homes. Occasionally, outings are also organised to events, movies or shows that are tied in with books, including annual attendance at the Sydney Writer’s festival in May. If you would like to join Book Club, or simply want to know more, please contact Monica or Sabiha.
Our next book for this term is Babel by R.F. Kuang. The date for the meeting is to be confirmed. New book suggestions for next term are welcome!
Parents Tennis
We held the Junior School Parents Tennis Day on Wednesday 9 August. It was a glorious day to be on court with the sun shining. The day was attended by around 30 Junior School parents. We had a fierce Round Robin Competition with 14 competitors battling it out for the title. Danielle Bird (Years 4 and 6) outplayed everyone by winning the most games. Danielle took home the winners trophy, a new Babolat Tennis racquet and a set of balls.
The clinic attendees had a great time brushing up on some old skills and learning some new ones. Jill McCann (Kindy and Year 3) won the Clinic Lucky Door prize of a private tennis lesson.
We are looking forward to hosting the last of the Redlands Parents Tennis Days with the Secondary School Parents Tennis Day on Wednesday 16 August. There are still some places available so be sure to book your spot today.
For more information, please call Felicity on 0416 082 882 or Shirley on 0452 209 625.
