Redlands Parents and Friends
And another term is (finally) over! We ended this term by raising $4,700 at the Second Hand Uniform Sale for the means-tested Redlands Foundation Scholarship Fund. Don’t worry if you missed it – we will continue to sell pre-loved uniforms early in Term 2. Thanks also to all the parents who came in to Prep and Junior School on Tuesday to make International Day a success! Wishing you all a joyous Easter and a restful term break.

Walks on Tracks
Weekly guided walks around the northern Sydney area are organised by an RPFA volunteer. This is a great way to meet other Redlands parents and get in shape, plus a wonderful way to spend a morning discovering the many paths of the Sydney area.
The invitation for walks is open, so if you have friends or family who you think would like to come along, please feel free to bring them. Dogs are also welcome on most walks.
Walks will continue over the term break. Next week’s walk on Wed 12 Apr will be from Little Manly to North Head. Meet at Little Manly beach at 8.40am – no dogs on this walk. The following week’s walk on Wed 19 Apr will be from Balmoral to Clifton Gardens. Meet outside The Boatshed Balmoral. The first week back from holidays, on Wed 26 Apr, we will be walking around Narrabeen Lake. Meet outside ProKayaks on the lake at 11 Narrabeen St.
Any questions, please contact Ann Marie Kimber or call 0406 691 533.
Book Club
Come along and enjoy the lively conversation of other Redlands parents from all around the world with a common love of reading. The Book Club meets twice each School term, rotating among members’ homes. There is also an annual visit to Sunday Writer’s festival (May) and sometimes to movies that are tied in with a book discussion.
Books and timing for next two meetings
To accommodate the availability of our next book champion, we will have a shorter period between our next two meetings (a 4-5 week gap). Given this, you may want to get an early jump on the second book as well. The following are the details of the next two books and expected timing.
- Next book and meeting:
- Book – Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus.
- Meeting – Week of 15 May. Date TBC, in the evening.
- Second book of Term 2:
- Book – The Familiars by Stacey Halls.
- Meeting – Week of either 12 June or 19 June. Date TBC, in the morning/daytime.
Hosts needed!
It would be great if we could get a couple volunteers to host our next two meetings. If you would be happy to host a meeting, or if you might be interested but have concerns about what’s involved, please contact Monica Gessner or Sabiha Naqvi to have a chat.
Also, if you would be happy to host a meeting in the future, but are just not available to do so in May/June, please let us know as well! We still have 4 more meetings in the second half of the year to organise!
Books planned for Term 3 are: The Seven Sisters by Lucinda Riley and BABEL by R.F. Kuang.

Rowing Dinner
Yr 7 had a great turnout for drinks night at Mosman Rowers
The Year 3 Class Parents hosted an Easter Scavenger Hunt on a soggy Sunday afternoon. The kids had an egg-cellent time finding the answers to their scavenger hunt questions at Clifton Gardens. As a reward for each right question, they received a mini egg and on completion of all questions, they received a bag of eggs. Over the course of the afternoon, the kids learnt a lot about Clifton Gardens. All left over eggs were donated to the NICU ward at RNSH and to the homeless and displaced through the AOK Community Outreach project.
