Redlands House/Transition Gold
Jeans for Genes
Just a reminder Redlands House will be taking part in Jeans for Genes Day on Friday 7 August. If your child attends Preschool on this day, students may wear mufti and should wear as much denim as they can to Preschool and bringing a gold coin to donate to the boxes on the sign in table. Jeans for Genes Day raises money to support the Children’s Medical Research Institute to discover treatments and cures for childhood illnesses.
Click here to watch a video that explains genetics simply to young children.
The statistics that every minute 12 children are born with a birth defect or incurable disease are heartbreaking. A simple gold coin is all it takes for our students to feel like they are not only thinking of others but making a tangible difference.
Sports Day
On Wednesday 12 August, our Seniors and Transition Gold students will participate in a mini sports carnival on the Prep School Oval. After morning tea, the children will walk to the Oval with their teachers and classmates, they will have the opportunity to engage in a range of fun activities and games. Sadly this year, parents will not be able to spectate. We will be sure to fully document this fun event and post some great photos and videos to Storypark.
Non-Government Schools Census
The Australian Government provides funding to Australian schools under the Australian Education Act 2013 (AE Act). As a result, Redlands is required to provide the Australian Government with certain information about the school, its staff, and student body to ensure the school’s funding is properly calculated and appropriately managed. This information is collected by the Department of Education, Skills and Employment (the department) on behalf of the Australian Government. Further information for parents and carers can be found on Redlands Pulse.
