Redlands House and PreKindergarten

Chinese New Year Celebrations

We would love families to join us for a celebration for Chinese New Year on Wednesday 14 February, from 9.30am to 10.30am.  Families are invited to join us for this wonderful cultural event. We will have a variety of activities and experiences in the in Redlands House playground for you and the students to enjoy. If you have an activity or experience you would like to share, please reach out and let Mrs Huon know.

The children are invited to wear a touch of red with their uniform on Wednesday to celebrate the special occasion.

PreKindergarten and Redlands House Drop Off and Pick Up

PreK

A PreK staff member will be stationed outside Pep Reception on Allister Street between 8am-8.20am each morning for those PreK parents who would like to use the Allister St drop zone in the mornings. PreK families can also use the morning car line for drop off if they have an older sibling to walk them to their room.

Redlands House

Redlands House parents are permitted to park for 5 minutes outside of Redlands House in the designated time frame displayed. Please adhere to this as prolonged parking creates congestion, double parking and confusion with Prep School car line which starts at 2.45am.

A Redlands House staff member will be present out the front of Redlands House each morning and afternoon to assist with this over the next period of time.

Medication

Redlands House has strict government regulations that must be adhered to. Medication will only be administered at Redlands House preschool if the medication is prescribed to the child or if it accompanied by a certificate of statement from the child’s doctor.

For medical conditions – If medication is to be administered at Redlands House preschool, a medical action plan is to be provided by the child’s parents/guardians.

For illness – If medication is to be administered at Redlands House preschool, a medical record is to be completed and signed by the child’s parents/guardians. Please ask educators for a medical form.

In the case of an emergency – If medication is to be administered at Redlands House preschool in the case of an emergency, verbal permission can be obtained by an educator from the child’s parents/guardians. In the case of an anaphylaxis or asthma emergency, medication can be administered without authorisation.

Medication will be stored in a child proof medication area (either within the fridge or cupboard as appropriate). Under no circumstances should medication be left in the child’s bag or in a place accessible to any children.

Storypark

Thank you to all of the new families who have provide permission for their child to be on Storypark. Storypark allows us to communicate, deepen relationships and strengthen communication between home and preschool.  It also enables us to reinforce experiences and deepen children’s learning. Stories are shared with families each week, sitting and viewing these stories with your child will demonstrate your interest in their world and acknowledge its importance. You can choose to add your own stories or leave comments and feedback for children and our teaching team. You can also choose to share these stories with family members if you wish. We hope that you will invite your extended family so that the children have an authentic audience who are genuinely interested in their learning.
