Redlands Composition Competition
The Music Department is pleased to announce its first ever Music Composition Competition. This creative opportunity is designed for any aspiring young composer in Yrs 7-12 who is currently enrolled in either the Academic Music Program, CoCurricular Music Ensembles Program or Extra Subjects Program. The department has selected talented young Australian composer and Redlander, Greta Argyropoulos (Class of 2017), as the ambassador in launching this creative initiative. For more information on the competition, all students are invited to come along to the launch event on Tuesday 12 June in MH1.

Sunday Rehearsal
Congratulations to students and staff for a brilliant Sunday rehearsal in piecing together the combined massed repertoire for the Senior Music Festival. We look forward to celebrating in the achievements of all students at the concert on Friday 22 June.
Production Week Rehearsals
Please note that all students involved in CoCurricular Music Ensembles will be required for a rehearsal and production meeting on Wednesday 20 June 7.45-8.15am in the Music Centre (MH1). With every student from Yrs 7-12 performing in the Finale, attendance at this rehearsal session is essential. Please see below for details of these additional rehearsals during the Senior Music Festival Production Week. More detailed rehearsal schedules will be issued in Week 6.
- Wednesday 20 June (Finale Rehearsal Yrs 7-12 students) – 3.30-5.00pm in the Music Centre
- Thursday 21 June (Festival Technical Rehearsals Yrs 7-12 students) – 7.00am-2.00pm at The Concourse
- Friday 22 June (Festival Technical Rehearsals Yrs 7-12 students) – 7.00am-5.45pm at The Concourse
Senior Piano Competition
The Music Department would like to congratulate all finalists who competed in the annual Redlands Senior Piano Competition on Monday night. All students presented highly polished performances and demonstrated outstanding levels of technical skill, stylistic interpretation and personal expression at the piano.
The school was privileged to work in association with guest adjudicator Ms Tonya Lemoh, who was particularly impressed with the outstanding standard of piano playing from students in Yrs 3-12, and commended students on their overall musicality and interpretation of repertoire.
At the conclusion of the competition students were presented with their awards by Head of Secondary School, Mr Sean Corcoran. Special thanks to Mr Darren Kuilenburg and Ms Arienne Brodie for their assistance in selecting finalists throughout the auditions and in mentoring these young pianists in order to achieve a high level of performance.
