RedFactor

The Music Department was impressed with the number of outstanding auditions held over the past fortnight for the upcoming RedFactor. Unfortunately, we are unable to have all students in the event but would like to let all students who auditioned know that we were appreciative of the wide variety of performances presented. There are a number of factors which are taken into consideration when choosing performances for this event as we always ensure that the selection process is fair and equitable. Students who were not selected for the final event will be given an opportunity to perform at an upcoming Year Assembly and this information will be distributed by the Year Coordinators.

Congratulations to the following students who have been selected to perform in the upcoming event:

Attendance at Ensembles

A reminder that punctual attendance at all ensembles is an expectation of all students enrolled in Cocurricular ensembles. Prep Ensembles commence at 7.45am, with supervision from 7.35am, and Junior School Ensembles commence at 7.15am with supervision from 7.05am. The exception to these times are Junior Voices, Guitar Ensemble and Jazz Band which all commence promptly at 7.30am. Attendance is integral as all ensembles have begun rehearsing for upcoming events.

JAM on Toast

Redlands House and Transition Gold students were entertained by an incursion by James Madsen from JAM on Toast on Thursday. The students have been learning songs by James during Music classes and enjoyed the opportunity to move and groove with the guest artist. Students were exposed to a variety of genres of music as well as learning about the musical concepts.

Piano Competition

Entries for the Piano Competition are due Wednesday 3 April to the Junior Music Office. Forms can be downloaded from Redlands Pulse and auditions will take place in Week 11 of this term.
