Rock in the Quad

On Tuesday this week, we were delighted to hear Rock in the Quad echoing around the Secondary School during recess and lunchtime. Whilst it might not have been quite in the ‘quad’ in recess, due to some unforecasted wet weather, it managed to clear up for our lunchtime session for all to hear and enjoy. 

We’re proud of the work of our rock bands and their enthusiastic performances, showcasing the year’s worth of contemporary musical collaboration.

Secondary School Open Morning

We’ve also had students performing at the Senior Campus Open Morning, playing for our prospective students and parents. Well done to our Horn Quartet and Intermediate Stage Band!

Redlands Dance Academy Concert – Music Collaboration

Here’s a sneak peak of the Advanced String Ensemble and selected wind/percussion players in the Pit at the Concourse Chatswood, as we prepare to play at the Dance Academy End of Year concert with some of the numbers. Come see this wonderful event – more information in the Dance Note Day page. 

Studio Concerts

Studio Concerts have continued this week, showcasing the efforts of our students and tutors across the year in private tuition on both Junior and Senior Campuses next week!

Year 2-3 and 6-7 Transitions

As the Year 6 students prepare for the exciting transition to Secondary School in 2025, we would like to take this opportunity to update you on Redlands Private Music Tuition, Rock Bands and Co-curricular Ensembles for 2024.

Private Music Tuition and Rock Bands:

There is an automatic roll-over from Yrs 2-3 and Yrs 6-7 for Private Music Tuition. To make this transition between campuses seamless, your child will retain the same Private Tutor and lessons will occur on the Senior Campus if going into Yr 7. 

Co-Curricular Ensembles

An automatic roll-over also applies for Co-curricular Music Ensembles from Yr  2 into Yr 3 and Yr 6 into Yr 7, with your child being added to the equivalent ensemble roll. More information regarding our 2025 co curricular and extracurricular timetable will be sent out over the coming week. 

Senior Auditions 

A reminder that all Semester 1 Auditions for Extension Ensembles are due this Friday 22 November by 5:00pm on iLearn.

Music is really thriving at Redlands, with over 500  students involved across the School, P-12 across Private Tuition, Ensembles and Performance Opportunities. 

The Music Calendar is full of exciting events and opportunities, and we are grateful to the support from our Music families in helping us make things happen. The Friends of Music is a passionate group of parents and carers who help out with events, costumes, stocktaking, resources, and general help as needed! Any help we get is invaluable. 

We are in particular need of leadership in the space, with our current parent leadership team stepping down this year.
