Cat Empire, Sydney Symphony Orchestra and Redlands Choir Performance
It’s not every day that you perform with even just one musical icon such as the Cat Empire, the Sydney Symphony Orchestra or Sydney Children’s Choir. And last Friday, 20 of our Year 9 and 10 Choir students were able to perform with all three of these Australian musical treasures at the Sydney Opera House.
For this live-streamed concert, audiences were up on their feet, dancing along as these combined forces raised the roof.
This quote from Sydney Arts Guide’s review says it best:
“A crowning glory of this collaboration was the addition of the Sydney Children’s Choir [and associated school choirs, including Redlands]. Perched above the busy stage action, often dancing up a storm and always performing with a penetrating purity, their presence in band merch T-shirts added yet another layer of successful crossover to this knockout Sydney Opera House debut for the popular Melbourne band.”
A special thanks goes to Ms Nicole Roberts, Ms Kirsty Hales and Mr Mathew Owen for facilitating such an exciting and unforgettable opportunity for these choir students.
