Junior Music Festival 2024 – Thursday 8 August 

Fasten your seatbelts and prepare for takeoff! The excitement is building amongst students for the highly anticipated JMF performance, just one week away! Students are reminded to be familiar with the details in the parent letter and to check Google Classroom for the runsheet.

A reminder that weekly attendance for students in cocurricular ensembles is expected and any absences should be communicated to the Junior Music Office.

Music Awards Dinner – Friday 23 August

Tickets are now on sale for the Music Awards Dinner!

The Music Awards Dinner is less than one month away on Friday 23 August. Nominations have rolled in from tutors across all Senior cocurricular ensembles for Year Group awards in the areas of Service, Leadership, Dedication and Excellence to the Music Program throughout 2024. We are delighted that this beloved annual event has returned to our calendar, and we can’t wait to share the evening with you, our community. Our smaller ensembles are rehearsing up a fabulous program of dinner entertainment and our Friends of Music are looking forward to hosting this joyous night at the Norths Cammeray. Formal communications will be sent home shortly.

ASBOF – Concert Bands perform this Sunday! 

This weekend, our Junior, Intermediate and Senior Concert Band members will be performing at the Australian Band, Strings and Orchestra Festival at UNSW Sir John Clancy Auditorium. This is the first time we are taking our Junior Concert Band, and we are excited to see three Concert Bands have this performance opportunity. Families should read the letter sent out through EdSmart to double check arrival times and other requirements for each band.


HICES Years 5-8 and Jazz Academy

HICES is just around the corner! This outstanding musical collaboration between Independent Schools will culminate in a concert at Sydney Town Hall.

Formal communications will be sent home shortly.

Composition Competition now open!

The final competition in our annual series, Composition Competition a.k.a. ‘Comp Comp’ is a fantastic catalyst for those budding singer-songwriters and composers to get their creative juices flowing! Redlands 7th Album project is now open to receive entries via the iLearn page. Adhering to the specified guidelines, composition submissions are to be uploaded by Friday 23 August 2024.


Junior & Senior Piano Competitions 2024

Please note the two start times for our competitions on Friday 30 August this term.

  • Junior Piano Competition – 4:00pm
  • Senior Piano Competition- 6:15pm


Prep Choir for Kindergarten students

In Semester 2 we invite Kindergarten students to enrol in cocurricular ensembles. Kindergarten students are eligible to enrol in Prep Choir (no audition required) or Prep Strings (no audition required but prerequisite of at least 1 term of private lessons). Year 12 IB Showcase

A big congratulations to our Year 12 IB students who presented a night of musical excellence for friends and family on Monday. We are so excited to see them present this program for their final submissions!

Students in Elective Music classes will perform in their showcases in Term 3 and 4. Parents and friends are invited to attend and support the students in their performances and celebrate their achievements this year. Please note the following dates in your calendar:
