Senior Music Festival

The Senior Music Festival on Friday evening was a roaring success and we are grateful to all those in our community who joined us for the fun! The show was made possible by 220 beaming performers, our graduating class as hosts with the most, and 30 staff and Friends of Music who jumped on board the creative vision to make it the memorable night it was!

Yr 12 IB Contemporary Music Maker 

On Monday night, five Yr 12 IB Higher Level Music students presented their Contemporary Music Maker projects. These student-led projects were the result of collaborations across musical, artistic and logistical domains, designed and executed by our students. The projects ranged from live musical compositions and performances accompanying dramatic monologues, musicals, and short films tackling complex themes and issues. 

We’re proud of our five IB students who put in countless hours to make these passion projects a reality, as well as all of their student collaborators! 

Senior Piano Competition Auditions – due tomorrow!

We’re delighted to announce that we will be joined by Daniel Rojas as our adjudicator for both the Junior and Senior events. 

Daniel Rojas is a South American born Australian concert pianist and composer who specialises in the rich and vibrant Latin American musical aesthetic. Rojas brings together music from diverse indigenous, folk and popular Latin American traditions and rearranges them for the concert stage. Seminal classical works by Latin American composers also play a significant part of his repertoire. He performs his own compositions, which include solo piano works and two piano concertos, and blends this with his sophisticated abilities to improvise live on stage.

Junior Music Festival – Thursday 3 August

Rehearsals are in full swing for all of the Junior Music Festival items! With hits from so many countries and continents around the world, it is sure to be a night to remember! Please save the date and ticketing details will be released in due course.

A reminder that weekly attendance for students in cocurricular ensembles is expected and any absences should be communicated to the Junior Music Office.
