Musgrove Opera Incursion
Junior Choir enjoyed the final incursion, rehearsing all songs for their performance at The Concourse. We’re so excited to see our 125 members from Junior Choir perform at the Concourse on 9 April. They were particularly enjoying their favourite song, I am the Duck – see the picture above!
Junior Campus Open Morning
It was a delight to hear the beautiful sounds of Junior Music students serenading prospective parents who came to the Junior Campus Open Morning on Tuesday this week. We heard amazing performances from the following students and ensembles:

Battle of the Bands – Book Your Tickets Now!
We’re so excited to hear the amazing performances of our Rock Bands and unplugged performances from Years 7-12 on Monday 8 April, starting at 5.30pm.
Friends of Music will also be hosting a BBQ from 5.00pm for students and parents.
Information for parents has been sent to relevant families, and tickets are open for all to attend!

Vocal Competition Auditions
The Senior Vocal Competition is back! The competition, held in Term 2 Week 5, will feature the talent and skills of Redlands best vocalists.
We encourage all singers to apply. Please note that students must be taking lessons with a vocal tutor (either within the school or externally) as a condition of entry.
Auditions are due by Friday 5 April (Term 1 Week 10), and students are encouraged to work with their vocal tutor for their selection of repertoire. More information can be found on the iLearn Auditions Page.
HICES Music Festival
Parents of students in Yrs 5-8 may have seen a Pulse Announcement providing information on the exciting opportunity that is the HICES Music Festival in August 2024. Students in the following year groups are strongly encouraged to apply and all information including costs can be found in the news link.
This festival, which we take part in annually and restarted after COVID in 2023, brings together over 400 musicians from across HICES schools in New South Wales. In 2024, HICES will bring together like-minded musicians for the HICES Music Festival Years 5-8 (including Male Vocal Ensemble for changed voice students in Years 7-11) and Jazz Academy (Students in Years 9-11).
Students will work with experienced conductors and guest conductors at The Tops Conference Centre in Stanwell Tops. Camp participants will be transported to either Sydney Town Hall or The Foundry 616 for final rehearsals, and the event will culminate with a Jazz Academy Concert at 4.00pm at The Foundry 616 and 7.00pm for Year 5-8 and Male Vocal Ensemble at Sydney Town Hall on Wednesday 14 August 2024.
