Junior Campus Music

Music Incursion

Students in Kindergarten to Yr 5 were fortunate to experience an exciting incursion last Thursday. Featuring our very own violin tutor Mrs Sywak, Jaga Band performed traditional folk songs on various Ukrainian instruments. Students were surprised to learn that the Cimbalom has 78 strings! The workshops provided a unique experience, exposing students to diverse musical traditions in a truly authentic way. We thank Ms Sywak and her band for visiting us and teaching us about Ukrainian Strings.

Redlands House and Transition Gold Concert

We warmly invite Redlands House and Transition Gold guests to attend our annual concert. Featuring a showcase of French Songs and the Nativity Story, it will be a wonderful celebration.

Senior Campus Music

Rock in the Quad

Today, students in our Rock Bands performed for their peers at Recess and Lunch, even despite some gloomy weather! Well done to our Years 7-12 Rock Bands for such energetic performances, capably mentored by Mr Montz, Mr Wooltorton and the Rock Band Tutors. 

Visits to the Junior Campus from our Senior Leaders! 

Over the last couple of weeks, our Captains and Section Leaders from Strings, Bands and Choirs have been visiting their Junior Counterparts! Well done to our Arts Captains Sholto Mirrlees-Black and Hallie Hunt as well as Music Captains Will Howard, Ahnu Guan, Jocelyn Wang and Tara Gold for leading this wonderful connection between the Junior and Secondary School. 

It was great for Yr 6s in these ensembles to see the leaders they will be interacting with next year! Have a look at our Arts and Choir Captains with Junior Choir below! 

Senior Auditions and Competitions

Symphony Orchestra Auditions are still open – due tomorrow! Other auditions and competitions are still available for next year.  Students who are interested should check information found on the Music Department Audition iLearn course. 

Senior Campus Studio Concerts

We’ve had so many amazing Studio Concerts this term! Please see some more photos of our concerts this week. 

Please see below schedule for our remaining Studio Concerts. Parents and guests visiting the Secondary Campus for these concerts are asked to go directly to the John Roberts Centre from the Gerard St Gate, and to sign in and out at Music Reception. Our Music Tutors will be in touch with the parents/carers of all students performing at these concerts to invite them to attend.

Please note that parents will be invited to attend events, and not all events listed below are for parents to attend. 

2024 Private Tuition

All Private Tuition rolls over automatically from year to year.  Should your child wish to discontinue their Private Instrumental lessons, please complete the Notice of Change Form on the Music Pulse pages by Friday 1 December to avoid late notice charges in the new year. This greatly assists us in supporting our casual workforce with work and income guarantees, and we thank you for your assistance to this end.
