ASBOF – Winners!
Exciting news – our Intermediate Concert Band attained the GOLD Award at the Australian Strings, Band and Orchestra Festival (ASBOF) today at Sydney Conservatorium of Music!
In a highly competitive event with 6 other schools in the Raymond Hanson division, our Intermediate Concert Band was the only band in the division to attain the Gold Award – an unbelievable achievement.
Our students also listened to the other bands in the division and took away so much from this experience. They will get audio feedback from the adjudicators which Mr Montz will walk through with the group in their next Concert Band session.
A massive congratulations goes out to our Head of Bands (P-12) and Conductor of Intermediate Concert Band, Mr Joseph Montz and Mr Jason Xu for his support as Assistant Head of Bands. We would also like to thank each of the Concert Band tutors for their work in supporting and mentoring our students in the Senior Concert Band program this year.
Music Awards Dinner
We had an absolutely outstanding night of music making and celebration at the Music Awards Dinner on Friday Evening. Awards and Presentations for students in Yrs 7-12 were given, and our Year 12s received a wonderful departing gift, including professional headshots from our professional photographer Vicki Skarrat. It was delightful to see such a lovely atmosphere in the room, with parents, and special friends enjoying a communal celebration of all we do in the Music Performance space.
Redlands Album 2023
We also launched the Redlands Album 2023 at the Music Awards Dinner! Now available on Spotify and Apple Music, the Redlands Album 2023 features the music of the winners of our Redlands Composition Competition in 2022. A variety of tracks can be heard from our talented students, from contemporary pop to orchestral classical music.

Father’s Day Prep Performance
Transition Gold and Prep School students are looking forward to singing two songs for their special guests during the Father’s Day breakfast on Monday. Students have been practicing their singing and actions in class and we are sure that dads and special guests will be blown away by their performance. Please see the Junior or Prep sections of Note Day for more information about this event.
Good Luck HSC Music 1 & 2 Performers!
