Senior Music Festival – Final ticket release!

We are so excited to see tickets selling fast for the Senior Music Festival with hundreds gone within hours of the link being shared! The last 250 seats have just been made available in the Dress Circle and we encourage our community to jump on the website to book tickets sooner than later to avoid disappointment.
- Adult | $40.00
- Child/Concession/Student | $30.00
- Family (2 adults & 2 children) | $110.00
A prize for the highest ticket sales is on offer again to a student in our Cocurricular Music program, so if you have a particular musician you would like to win, ask them their STUDENT NUMBER and add this 6-digit code under ‘Questionnaires’ when you purchase tickets.
Our LIKE A VARIATION theme for 2023 is a twist on the similarly named radio segment, and we’re having a ball pulling it all together! This fantastic night is not just for members of our P-12 Redlands community, but for music lovers and trivia buffs of all ages! Spread the word, round up your friends and secure your tickets for what will be another very fun evening for our Redlands community.

SMF Whole Cast Rehearsal – this Sunday!
As advised via email, all members of the Senior Cocurricular Music program are rehearsing this Sunday between 10am – 2.30pm (arrive and set instruments up in John Roberts Centre at 9.45am). Students are reminded to wear their Festival t-shirts and to bring their instrument, scores, a packed lunch, snacks and their 1920’s costumes. We will be getting changed into our Gatsby-esque grandeur during the lunch break in readiness for a costume run.
As with the long days at The Concourse, we also recommend students bring a book or some quiet activities should they find themselves with downtime in between their calls.
Everyone will be dismissed for collection at the Gerard St gates at 2.30pm, with the exception of the Yr 12 featured students who will rehearse till 4pm. Let’s make some music!
Pink Sock Fundraiser Performances
Congratulations to our Extracurricular Rock Band program who pivoted on a dime to jump to the support of a student-led Festival in the Fahl garden, raising money for Breast Cancer research. The day was the initiative of our School Captains and the Rock Bands added greatly to the event with their fantastic music! Thanks to our Head and Small Ensembles, Mr Montz and our Assistant Head of Small Ensembles, Mr Wooltorton, and to all our wonderful Rock Band mentors who support these aspiring performers each week. Well done students!
Spotlight on…Chamber Music in the Junior School

We are fortunate to have a thriving Chamber Music program at Redlands on both campuses. On the Junior Campus, the Vivaldi Chamber Ensemble performed for visitors to the recent Open Day, and this week, the Mozart Chamber Ensemble wowed the Junior School with a performance during the whole school assembly. Performing Allegro from Vivaldi’s Autumn, the group demonstrated excellent musicality and ensemble playing, performing without a conductor. Congratulations to our Junior School Chamber musicians and we look forward to your upcoming performances in the Junior Music Festival.
