Music

It’s beginning to look a lot like…

The Music Hub tree went up on the first day of November. There’s no doubt about where this department stands on the subject of Christmas! On both campuses, students are getting their jingle on in ensemble rehearsals and are working hard towards the year’s zenith within performances for all our wonderful end of year events.

Before the year is out, the following performance opportunities are in the pipeline for our P-12 musicians:

Junior Campus Carols Service – 29 Nov
Redlands House Rainbows Concert – 30 Nov
Junior Rock Band Performance -1 Dec
Rock in the Quad – 1 Dec
Secondary School Carols Service – 2 Dec
Final Secondary Assemblies – 6 Dec
Year 6 Graduation – 6 Dec
Prep Presentation Day – 6 Dec
Junior Speech Day – 7 Dec
Secondary Speech Night – 7 Dec

We can’t wait to share our music with our community in the weeks ahead.

CHORAL PROGRAM

The Junior Choir was so excited to welcome the Jazz Vocal Ensemble on the Junior Campus last week. Led by our wonderful Choir Captain Phoebe Barnett, both groups performed for each other and enjoyed the wonderful music making at Redlands.

CONCERT BANDS and
STRINGS PROGRAMS

With our showcase concerts now complete, our focus in String Ensembles and Concert Bands now turns to end of year events, with all these groups diligently preparing a range of repertoire for Prep Presentation Day, Junior School Speech Day and Secondary School Speech Night respectively. We look forward to contributing to these events and encourage plenty of practice leading up to the end of the year!

Studio Concert Series

Over 450 private lessons take place each week at Redlands, facilitated by our team of 28 specialist Music Tutors. Our lunchtime Studio concert series has seen hundreds of parents and friends popping by during lunch to support students as they ‘show and tell’ what they’ve achieved this year in an informal and safe setting.  With only three sessions remaining next week, we welcome our community to join us in the Edwards Auditorium at 1pm on the days below.

Ms Patterson (Voice)  | Monday 21 November
Ms Sin (Orchestral Percussion) | Wednesday 23 November
Mr Auchinachie (Guitar) | Thursday 24 November

Congratulations to all who have shared their music across the past week.

Please reach out to your respective Music Office should you have any questions and we will be happy to assist you.
