Live Music! Love!
We will never again take for granted the richness of experiencing LIVE music in concert. Last Thursday, in support of their curriculum music-learning, Yr 9 Music students were treated to a performance by the Sydney Symphony Orchestra (SSO) playing Mozart’s Haffner Serenade at the City Recital Hall. Next week, we are thrilled to be able to take our Yr 12 Music 2 & IB Music students to see Lior perform his collaboration with Australian composer Nigel Westlake with the SSO next Friday. Compassion has been well-loved as a set work of study for our Music 2 & IB students over past years, and we are thrilled to be able to experience this work in a rare live performance at the newly refurbished Opera House Concert Hall. We are already looking to 2023 and excitedly aligning our curriculum with potential excursion opportunities.
Welcome Kirsty Hales
We are delighted to announce that the void on the desk in the Senior Campus Music Office has been filled by Ms Kirsty Hales. The daughter of a Head of Music, Kirsty grew up in the hallways of programs like ours, later pursuing music-making as a hobby herself, before garnering career experience as an Architectural Lighting Designer, Office Manager, and facilitator of many reputable Concert Band programs in NSW public schools. We know you will join with us in welcoming Kirsty to our community!
Wishing you a great Week 4 to come!
