Spotlight on Kindergarten Music
This term our Kindergarten students are learning all about the Violin – how it works, how it sounds and what kinds of music you can make on a violin. We even had a special treat in Kindy Blue with Anniela and Jasper performing live on their instruments! Students loved hearing the violin ‘in real life’ and used their visible thinking strategies to ask interesting questions about the instrument.
Rock Bands – Live at Lunch
As a special treat this week, the senior campus Rock Bands have taken to the stage of the Fahl Garden to serenade their friends. Special thanks to Mr Montz and the Rock Band tutors for facilitating these fun additions to our lunch times!
Spring Fair Music items – calling Prep and Junior School Students!
We look forward to supporting our Rock Band, Jazz Combo and Year 11/12 students as they take to the Spring Fair stage on the 3rd September 2022. At 10:15am we also invite all Prep and Junior School students to join in with a singalong of a song all students know: ‘Sesere Eeye’. We will enjoy singing and dancing together on stage in the Fahl Garden with any students who are in attendance at this time.
Junior Campus Ensemble Openings
It’s not too late to join an ensemble on the Junior Campus! As we begin to prepare for end of year performances, we invite students to consider joining an ensemble and all details can be found on Pulse. We are particularly eager for any budding wind / brass / percussion students who have private lessons to submit an application form to audition for Concert Band.
Senior Music Awards Dinner 2022
Tomorrow night! Tickets for the dinner have sold out and we can’t wait to join our community for this much-loved sit down dinner, honouring the contributions of our senior musicians and celebrating that gift that Music is to our community. A reminder to all performers to please meet punctually at the John Roberts Centre straight after school so that the buses can leave promptly at 3.30pm.
Senior Instrumental Competition 2022
The finalists have been announced and rehearsals are in place for the coming Senior Instrumental Competition on Monday 19th September. The three divisions will kick off at 5.30pm. Parents and friends are welcome to attend, and can reserve some of the limited seats available via the link below.

‘Addams Family Musical’ Orchestra Auditions
Our Head of Music Enrichment & Lead Conductor, Mr Mathew Owen is looking forward to once again taking on the role of Music Director for the Redlands Musical in 2023! There are several seats open for Orchestral instruments, and auditions are welcomed via the Addams Family Musical Auditions iLearn page. With Audition forms needing to be submitted by tomorrow, please check the iLearn page for more information, or see the Drama Office.
