Redlands Senior Piano Competition Winners 

The piano extravaganza continues! Following on from a highly successful Junior Piano Competition, last Friday saw our Senior pianists take to the stage, to breathtaking end. Thoughtful, musical work was offered by our performers and once again our internationally acclaimed adjudicator Dr Jeremy Eskenazi praised the extremely high standard of performance craft, technical work and musicality he witnessed at Redlands. 

Thanks are extended once again to all Music Department staff who worked together to ensure the success of this second event in our Piano Competition series, and to our Principal, Mr Stephen Webber who attended and presented our awards.

Huge congratulations to the Guan sisters, Ahnu & Ina, who between them took home BOTH Junior and Senior piano competition trophies this year! Such a feat!

Next stop in our annual competition series is the Senior Vocal Competition, to be followed by the Senior Instrumental Competition and Composition Competitions later in the year.

Senior Vocal Competition – 10 June 

Speaking to the strong value for singing as an expressive art form at our school, an extraordinary number of auditions were submitted this year (with auditions closing last Friday). Thank you to every person who bravely submitted their audition videos to iLearn.  The panel are working through the uploads and deliberating on this very difficult decision. The selected finalists will be announced next week, with ticketing information to follow. 

Private Tuition Studio Concert Series

Our Studio Concert Series each semester provides a relaxed opportunity for our developing musicians to share their progress with a supportive audience of family and friends.  

Rooms have been allocated based on studio size to allow for appropriate distancing, with some studios combining. Though not ticketed, we ask all guests to please wear a mask while in attendance at these lunchtime concerts, and to follow the sign-in protocols of the respective school you are attending (Prep, Junior or Senior). As per the school policy, students and guests with any COVID symptoms on the day are required to stay at home.

Thank you in advance for your flexibility with the limited setup time for these informal events, with classes likely finishing in the concert space just minutes before the performances! Though there may be classes wrapping up as you arrive, and it can feel like a bit of a shamozzle, we are grateful to any parents who can arrive a bit early and help quickly whip the room in order for a 1pm start for our lovely music sharing time!

Senior Music Festival – Friday 17 June, 6pm

Did someone say JUNE!?
We are just 5 weeks away from The Greatest of All Time Senior Music Festival extravaganza on the stage of the Concert Hall at the Chatswood Concourse.  An evening you won’t want to miss, superbly hosted by our highly entertaining senior-most year! This is a night for the whole Redlands community from youngest to oldest. Spread the word and bring your tribe!  

Though we had hoped to launch ticketing this week, technical challenges will see the box office open NEXT week… Get ready to grab your seats!
