Ides of March

Last Friday, Class of 2020 School Captain Isabel Simpson and classmate Lauren Burke, both former IB Latin students, kindly visited Redlands to mark the Ides of March. They taught the Yr 11 IB class translating poetry by Catullus together and discussed their Internal Assessment research dossiers on ekphrasis and the epic simile. At lunchtime, we had a party and a giveaway of antique Latin books to Latin students of all Year Groups, which was a roaring success. School Captain Theo Mirrlees-Black was spotted teaching students about metre in ancient poetry. A great day for Latin students!
