Junior Sport
The frantic pace that is Term 1 will die down shortly but for the time being we are in full swing and this is especially relevant for our Year 6 students , some of whom have a busy Monday ahead. We have 14 Year 6 students who were selected to swim at HICES Swimming Carnival on Monday and as soon they finish their events, they will get on another bus and head to Canberra to join their class mates on their Year 6 Camp. We wish these swimmers and the rest of the 2020 HICES Swim Squad the best of luck on Monday. If successful, they will then progress through to the CIS Carnival later this term.
Addressing a few housekeeping items, can you please ensure on match day students arrive for warm up 30min before the scheduled start of their game. Likewise, if you know you are going to be away or cannot attend the match, please complete an absentee notice via the link. That way we can cover your child’s absence without having to ask other families last minute as they finish their match. We had an embarrassing situation last week in the Year 5 and Year 6 G Basketball team where we only 3 students turned up for their game (held indoors). Prior to tip off we had to ask students in Year 3 and year 4 to stay back and play another game after theirs just to avoid a forfeit. Thanks to those students and families.
Online Draw
To date the feedback for this online draw has been excellent, thank you to those who have passed on feedback so far. This is certainly something that we will keep as we prepare for Winter.
Students/parents/caregivers are asked to refer to the draw towards the end of the week so you are aware of any changes. Please do not look at the draw at the start of the term and pencil in times into your calendar as changes may come through late in the week from host schools.
Online Team Lists
Students/parents/caregivers are asked to refer to these team lists towards the end of the week so you are aware of any changes the coaches have made after training and/or games. The meeting times for matches remains unchanged with students requiring to meet their coaches 30 minutes before the scheduled start of the match.
For all other changes please see the updated Term 1 Calendar that can be found here, Junior School Sports Calendar.

The sessions will cover general fitness, agility and will give students the opportunity to get into running as we wind down Term 1 summer sport. Training commences Monday 9 March and has replaced Basketball and Football sessions on those mornings. They will continue with the end date being Monday 6 April.
