It’s fantastic to see so many siblings together as part of the Redlands team.

Extra Sports

Don’t forget our great extra sports on offer before and after school. Our Football Skills Squad is an active after school option running on Mondays with Coach Javier Carpio.

Agility and Speed training will return with the Junior School Oval, which is looking better and better each day!

IPSHA Sports

IPSHA matches begin this weekend. All matches, times and venues are as per the original draw.

Basketball

Our Yrs 5/6 basketballers have really lifted the bar in the early part of this season. Our teams are so far undefeated across three rounds in Grades A – F and our depth is truly showing through with many of the students involved in our Rep team Intraschool matches ready, willing and able to take the court for our graded teams. The quality of Basketball across all grades is impressive and I can assure you that our coaches are working hard to ensure our players are improving all aspects of their game, not just getting results on Saturdays.

Lachlan Carmichael was successful in being selected for NSWCIS Boys Basketball team last week. He will be part of the CIS team who have dominated the NSWPSSA Championships in recent years. That tournament is in Term 2 in Maitland. Congratulations Lachlan.

Cricket

Our Cricket team were washed out last weekend, but are back on track this weekend with a trip to The Kings School. The roster is as normal and Nick and Adam will be there from 7.30am for warm up.

Tennis

Stella Simpson Morgan has been the cornerstone of our Tennis team for a few years now and was this week selected for the second year running to represent NSWCIS at the NSWPSSA Primary Tennis Championships in Inverell in May.

Girls’ Football

Our Girls’ Football teams are spread far and wide. We have six teams playing modified matches everywhere from Pymble to Tara to Moore Park each week. Coaches reporting back are ecstatic with the effort of the girls and improvement already.

Winter Sports Choices

Don’t forget to log into Trybooking to enter selections for your Winter Sports. The booking window will remain open until 5.00pm Friday 1 March.

Paul Kelly Cup

The Paul Kelly Cup is the largest AFL Primary School competition in NSW and the ACT and is open to students in Yrs 5 and 6. The Paul Kelly Cup consists of 12-a-side teams competing in round robin carnivals in the local area. Games are played on a smaller field using modified 12-a-side rules. This allows children who are new to the game to experience and enjoy AFL in a safe and fun environment. Our teams will play a minimum of three games at the AFL Paul Kelly Cup Gala Day. We have entered teams into the Gore Hill PK Cup on 20 March.

Students interested in playing should sign on at Dunnet Hall noticeboard, outside the Sports Office this week.
