NSNA Netball

Our Netball teams have done a fantastic job of scrambling and filling all positions on the last day of last term. Thanks to everyone who played up and across or hung around to help another Redlands team. We were one of very few clubs who didn’t forfeit any matches on that last night. Moving forward, NSNA Round 3 is this Friday and it’s often this stage of the season where we really begin to see some leaps and bounds of improvement in our teamwork and passing. I can’t wait. All of our Round 3 fixtures are as per the NSNA draw except Redlands 12 whose opposition have forfeited.

IPSHA Winter Sports Draw

The Winter sports draw for Football, Rugby, AFL and Hockey is here. Teams are finalised and, along with a copy of the draw, has been emailed to all players. Matches start this weekend and it’s a big one at our home fields at Macquarie University with all of our Junior School Football teams and the reignited Rugby program playing there throughout the morning. The draw is also available for all Rugby, Rugby Sevens, AFL, Football and Hockey Teams on Redlands Pulse.

Cross Country Carnival

Students have been training hard in their PE classes for the Redlands annual Cross Country Carnival which takes place next Friday 11 May at Macquarie University Playing fields. This year’s Carnival will feature our regular age races, a 2km fun run and a host of relays in what has become a day very much looked forward to across the School. Students attend school at regular time and are then transported by bus to the course. Students may wear House colours to the event. Please complete the online permission for Friday and if any parents are interested in assisting with on course supervision please contact juniorsport@redlands.nsw.edu.au. You can be guaranteed a comfortable spot, close to the action.

Paul Kelly Cup AFL

Finally, after two rainouts in Term 1 the Paul Kelly Cup will take place next Tuesday at ELS Hall North Ryde. Redlands is entering a record breaking six teams with over 80 students keen to attend. Three Boys teams and three Girls teams will have some fun, play 3-4 games of modified Australian Football and try to win their way through to the next round. Students should attend school at normal time in PE uniform, bring boots and mouthguard, sunscreen and food and water for the day. Online permission for this event needs to be completed before Tuesday.

CIS Tennis

Best of luck to Stella Simpson-Morgan who heads off to Albury next week to compete in the NSWPSSA Tennis Championships for CIS. We look forward to bringing you some tales of Stella’s progress in the Championships.

Holiday Sports Clinics

We had some great numbers and some serious talent on show throughout the last holiday break, with Football and Netball camps held on the Junior Campus. With over 25 students at each camp, skills rapidly improved and our coaches were really impressed at the approach of our kids, who showed real dedication and determination to develop their craft over the multi-day camps.
