Rep Sport Summer Sport Trials

Thank you to all our students who were involved in our Summer Sport trials last week in preparation for the Term 4 Rep season that commences first week back in Term 4. We were able to get through our Tennis, Touch, Girls Basketball, Mixed Basketball and our Year 3 and 4 Mixed Basketball in skills and drills and then full games. Those students who did not attend the trials will be assessed in Term 4 Week 1. At Redlands our teams are ‘fluid’, meaning teams may change from week to week depending on 3 main criteria:

  • Ability: in direct comparison to other students across the sport
  • Attendance: any student who misses 2 games in a season unrelated to sickness may be moved
  • Attitude: this is based on behaviour at trainings, on game day and not limited to the sporting arena

Parents and carers are reminded to check the teams each Friday afternoon for changes that may have taken place at training during the week. Students may at times be asked to fill in for other teams occasionally due to absences etc.

Non-Rep Sport Recommencing Term 4

At our assembly I reminded our students about the three ‘rights’ and how they impact upon their involvement in Redlands Sport in Term 4. Students are asked to adhere to these;

  • Right place
  • Right time
  • Right equipment

Can you please ensure your check your child’ activities to see what sport they are commencing in Term 4 making sure they bring the appropriate gear and or equipment to sport. Those families who have children enrolled in Swimming, Sailing and Surfing were sent paperwork to complete, and these must be completed so as to ensure your child can enter the water in their first session next term.

Non Rep families are also reminded to check the home page of Pulse as well as their individual sport pages on a regular basis for updates.

Redlands Olympics

Congratulations to France on winning Gold at our Olympics which have taken place over the last 9 weeks. With points awarded for Hurdles, 80m sprint, prone hold, standing long jump, target kick, target throw and then three weeks of Football, the placings were decided yesterday at Wednesday Sport. Well done to all students on their enthusiastic participation.
