HICES Athletics

In beautiful conditions our team had a great day at the HICES Athletics championships at SOPAC last week. It was pleasing to hear that students achieved PB’s across several events and age groups. Congratulations to the following students who have successful in obtaining a place in the HICES team that will now compete at CIS in a couple of weeks.

We also had two relay teams qualify for CIS, our Girls 8-10 4×100 Metre Relay Junior made up of Abboud, April,  Dang Amy, Gebhard Ajabu, Collie, Ophelia and our Boys 8-10 4×100 Metre Relay Junior made up of Robertson, Gus; Elworthy, Charlie; Munn, Miles and Nicholas, Aurelio.

We wish these athletes the best of luck at CIS.

Redlands Olympics

Our Redlands Olympics got off to a flying and warm start on Wednesday last week with over 100 Football and Rugby students representing their assigned country (team). They took part in a series of athletic, strength and accuracy events and will continue to do so for the rest of the term. The middle-distance running event (500m), the 70m hurdles and the kicking events proved most popular. Well done to all the students who have started this program

2025 Term 1 Summer Sport Nomination

All families only in Year 2,3,4,5 would have received Pulse News with the information relating to the selection of their child’s Summer Sport for 2025, Term 1. While it may seem early we have to secure external venues and contractors in the coming weeks.

Please note all families are required to select a Non Rep Sport or a Rep Sport, they cannot do both in the same season but can alternate each term. Please complete this as soon as possible so we can share the first round of submissions with you next Thursday. As some sports fill up quite fast with capped numbers please don’t delay in completing your child’s nomination. Water sports tend to fill up quite fast in Summer. Redlands Athletics Carnival Photos

As you would be aware, I organised for a professional sports photographer to attend the Junior School Athletics Carnival to take some photos for parents and the school. There are some great shots online for you to view and or purchase or download. Please follow the steps below to view this folder that is only accessible to Redlands families. They will be uploaded as soon as possible by the company.

These have all been updated on Pulse for your viewing and preparation These events can also be located in our school sport calendar. Information for our Junior School Athletics Carnival is now available on Pulse on our Athletics Page. The program for the Athletics carnival should you wish to attend to view parts of the day can also be found here as well the parent information package on the day.

A training program has also been uploaded to the Athletics page as a resource for any family who would like to do some preparation with their child for the upcoming Athletics Carnival. This can be downloaded from the FILES section on the Athletics page.
